Did White House Doctor Photo of President "Throwing" Football?

I'm not one for conspiracy theories. I prefer to base my opinions on demonstration fact that I can point to. However, after looking at an extremely odd photo of President Obama "throwing" a football, I have my doubts that this photo is real.

First things first, however. I found this picture from the White House's official twitter source. Here's a screenshot of the tweet:
At a quick glance, the picture seems real:
However, on closer inspection , some very odd things pop up. If you go to the linked picture, in which the photo is notably larger, peculiar things become obvious. In particular, the President's enlarged eyes in the photo and the pixels that surround his head and arms, but are not present in any other part of the picture. Zoomed in, this is what it looks like:
Note the pixelation that occurs around the entirety of the President's head. Such deterioration does not exist anywhere else (at least so obviously) in the photo. Also note Mr. Obama's oddly large eyes.  Additionally, President Obama is inexplicably looking upward, unless his target is sitting somewhere in the cheap seats 100 yards away.

On top of it all, this throwing motion does not match Mr. Obama's previous photo ops. Compare the new picture's motion with this one of Mr. Obama throwing a baseball (click for better resolution):
You should notice several things right off the bat. The picture on the left is less heavily pixelated. More importantly, however, with the picture on the left, Mr. Obama's left arm has decidedly more bend in it, his right arm is lowered, and his shoulders are more squared.

So, is this picture doctored? It's up to you to decide. However, the fact that the White House may have altered a picture of the President throwing a football speaks to how desperate they are to perfectly manicure his public image.

And on the bright side, even if this isn't photoshopped, the photographer did a terrible job making the President look athletic.  Oh, and our Commander in Chief is taking official photos of him throwing a football poorly as our debt nears $16,000,000,000,000.

Update: An intrepid commenter posted a link to a better quality image of Mr. Obama throwing the football. It proves that the photo was probably not doctored, but simply staged (poorly).

Is Superman Gay? Yes, It Has Come to This

From Fox News:
Could Superman be gay?

Honchos at Superman's comic book home, DC Comics, said this weekend that one of their most identifiable (but as of yet unnamed) straight characters will soon be coming out of the closet, according to a report.

At the Kapow Comic Convention held last weekend in London, DC co-publisher Dan DiDio said the publisher would be reintroducing a previously existing character who would now be “one of our most prominent gay characters," the website BleedingCool.com reports.

Didio said DC's position had shifted on the subject since he said in an interview last year that any homosexual characters would be new introductions, and that none of their existing characters' sexual orientations would shift.

I'm personally hoping it's Aquaman.

Stan Van Gundy Fired

I think we all knew something like this was coming. From NBA.com:
Orlando Magic Chief Executive Officer Alex Martins announced today that Stan Van Gundy has been relieved of his duties as head coach. In addition President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Otis Smith and the organization have mutually agreed to part ways.

"On behalf of the DeVos Family, we sincerely appreciate and thank Otis and Stan for all that they have done on and off the floor for the Orlando Magic,” said Martins. "These are the days you dread in this business, but we feel it's time for new leadership and new voices.

"They both brought die-hard dedication and an unmatched work ethic on a daily basis,” added Martins. “Their success is well documented, as the Orlando Magic has had the fourth best record in the NBA over the last five years, and entering the playoffs this year the third most playoff wins over that period of time. The disappointment of getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs these past two seasons played a primary role in our decision, as we feel our momentum towards winning a championship has paused. We wish Otis and Stan all the best and we look forward to taking the next step towards winning that championship."

Van Gundy was named head coach on June 7, 2007, becoming the ninth head coach in franchise history.

NATO To Construct Missile Defense Shield

The NATO summit currently ongoing in Chicago has some great news to report this afternoon - the American-European defense coalition agreed to construct a missile defense shield protecting Europe and the United States from any potential launches that may threaten our security. The defense shield should be completed within the decade.

Russia, unsurprisingly, is on high alert as they fear this defense shield would eliminate their nuclear advantage over Europe and have previously threatened to attack such shield as dangerous to Russian security. However, the construction of this protective shield is luckily out of Russia's hands.

It is nice to see some backbone come out of NATO as recently they have adopted a weaker stance on international affairs due to anti-war citizenry's across the organization's member states and a crushing economic crisis that has strangled defense budgets across the alliance.

This is a strong step forward in both standing up to Iran's nuclear ambitions with a protective hand and in confronting with Russia with the reality we will not allow them to terrorize Eastern Europe any longer with the threat of nuclear annihilation or political occupation.

What say you?

Facebook Stocks Plummet

Dun dun duuuun. From CNBC:
Facebook shares plunged more than 13 percent on Monday, falling below the $38 price of the initial public offering, in the social network's second day of trading as a public company.

The stock sank without the full support of the company's underwriters, leaving some investors down nearly 25 percent from where they were Friday afternoon.

Facebook's debut was beset by problems, so much so that the Nasdaq said on Monday it was changing its IPO procedures.

That may comfort companies considering a listing but does little for Facebook, whose lead underwriter Morgan Stanley had to step in and defend the $38 offering price on the open market.

All  Politics  is Chicago

Once again, the phrase coined by Tipsy O'Neill, "All politics is
local," is making the news again.  But today, all politics ain't
local.  Not no more it ain't.  All politics now is Chicago.  Even
the Tipster wouldn't recognize politics today.  Politics is now a
bloodsport where the worst succeed, the liars win, and the killers
divide the spoil.

Those who have dared run for office of late have found to their
utter astoundment and innocent amazement that politics is a very
dirty game.  Whether the office in question is the mayor of a small
town, a county office, or a state or federal office, it is all now part
of a dirty Chicago game.

None of us are naive enough to think for one second that politics
has ever been clean, moral and just.  We haven't been dumbed
down that much yet.  And we all know also that justice is not
served in our political process.  Whether it is a traffic ticket, a
dispute between neighbors, a domestic dispute, a misdemeanor,
a felony, or something real serious; we all can read, we all can
think, and we all know that justice is never handed down
equally --  never.

Justice, and I use the term loosely, is bought and paid for daily,
just  like any other commodity.  The sad truth is, people in power
stay in power by using their power against anyone and everyone
who would challenge them.  And that includes law enforcement,
judges, especially judges, attorneys, county commissioners,
sheriffs; without naming every elected office, in a phrase --  all
of them.

Election laws, especially election laws, have been written and
changed and continue to be written and changed by people in
office who plan on staying in office.

For thousands of years, in every country on earth, people have
been shot, kidnapped, gone missing, died in "accidents," died
from "natural causes," been poisoned --  all in the name of
politics.  But this is America, land of the free and home of the
brave.  Tyrants and dictators and cold blooded killers are for
other, non-civilized countries, right?  Not no more they ain't.

Now, here, when an amateur from another country who never
held a real job in his life, can raise 40 million dollars in one
month, it is impossible to measure the graft, corruption,
mayhem, murder, poisonings, jail sentences handed down, just
to keep others off the ballot.  Only in Chicago, the world head-
quarters of this violent, perverse, heathenish political system,
could this happen and the country looks the other way.

And while we're on it, why don't they just move the Democratic/
Socialist Convention from North Carolina to Chicago?  It would
seem like old home week, Rahm could be the MC, Jeremiah
Wright could lead the singing and Man's Country could provide
the "entertainment."  But I digress.

Edward Klein, recent author (and still breathing) of the well
written expose of the amateur  in the White House, entitled,
"The Amateur," on page 70, quotes from the Feb 25, 2012
issue of The Economist:

"Chicago...has the dubious distinction of being the federal
district with the most convictions since 1976.  Since then,
1828 elected officials, appointees, government employees
and a few private individuals have been convicted of
corruption in Illinois, and 84% of those were in the Northern
District - a judicial zone which contains the entire Chicago
Metropolitan area.  During this time, around one third of the
city's aldermen have been convicted of corruption.  No mayors
have been convicted or indicted -- not even Bill Thompson,
who was backed by Al Capone."  The Amateur, p. 70

Just because Barry Soetoro is from Chicago/Indonesia is reason
not to vote for him.  Any Chicago politician running for any
office outside Chicago should never be elected to anything.
Keep Chicago corruption inside the city limits, where it
belongs, in the city of slime, crime, death and corruption.

To a man to whom human life means nothing, what if the
first bill he signed was to kill babies around the world? To
that man, what would he care about the life of someone
who gets in his way in politics?

To a man who disdains marriage, and who promotes
homosexual prominence in America, what would he care
about ruining the family of anyone who dares oppose him?

To a man who hates the Constitution of the United States,
what does he care about following any law?

To a man who uses religion for his own selfish political
ambitions, what does he care about right and wrong?  To
Chicago politicians, for whom life, law, right and wrong
have no meaning, what do they care who lives or dies in
their quest for more power?

The days of "one man making a difference," are long gone.
Those with an honest heart, a desire to do good, a desire
to serve our towns, cities, states and country need no longer
apply in politics.  It is life and death now, a blood sport
where the worst succeed, the liars win, and the killers
divide the spoil.

Flashback: Obama in 2004: Deficit is "Enormous Problem"

It's amazing how different the President sounds today as opposed to a handful of years ago. It's almost as if he's a hypocrite or something.

While campaigning in 2004 for the Senate, Barack Obama was asked how he would combat the rising deficit. The interviewer asked, "What are you going to do specifically to cut it or to raise... either to stop spending or raise revenues?"

Ignoring the question completely, as he clearly had no answers, he launched into an attack on the Bush administration, saying:

"I think it is enormous problem (sic). This has been the most fiscally irresponsible administration in certainly my memory. Uh, we have gone from trillion dollar surpluses to trillion dollar deficits in the blink of an eye. Not all of those costs are the fault of the administration, obviously 9/11 occurred and the decline in the economy, but what is also true, uh, it was aided and abetted by a set of fiscal policies that I think, uh, were, uh, on... on the wrong course."

You can watch the video below, with the above excerpt beginning at the twenty second mark.

Trillion dollar deficits, huh? At the time that Mr. Obama made this statement, the Bush deficit was $400,000,000,000, or four hundred billion. Still much too much, but a bald-faced lie by Mr. Obama. In fact, while in office, President Bush's largest deficit was less than five hundred billion dollars. This is in stark contrast to Mr. Obama, whose first year deficit was an enormous 1.85 trillion dollar deficit, or $1,850,000,000,000, more than four times President Bush's largest deficit.

And trillion dollar surpluses? The first year of the Bush Administration brought a surplus of 236.2 billion dollars. It was the highest surplus in a decade, including all of the surpluses and deficits under Clinton. Surpluses took a sharp turn downward because of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. In total, Mr. Obama's ramblings were off by well over a trillion dollars. No shock here.

Apparently Mr. Obama is not aware of this thing called "the internet," but people can fact-check his lies. He still hasn't learned, but with the Main Stream Media doing his dirty work, he never has had to.

Lockerbie Bomber, Abdelbaset Ali Al-Megrahi, Dead

It's about time. From the Daily Mail:
Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Al-Megrahi died at home today three years after he was released from a Scottish prison on compassionate grounds.

The convicted terrorist's mother said he passed away at his home in Tripoli at around midday.

The 60-year-old had developed prostate cancer while serving his sentence for the 1988 atrocity which killed 270 people.
His release came after doctors told him he had just three months to live.

But the decision provoked huge controversy as many of the victims' families felt his freedom was part of a deal to secure a better relationship with oil-rich Libya.

He received a hero's welcome on his return to Tripoli and was paraded through the streets alongside the late Colonel Gaddafi's son Saif.

Sunday Morning Bible Story

    Death in the Garden

Genesis chapter one begins:  "In the beginning, God created the
heaven and the earth."   The first chapter in the Bible goes on to
reveal that in the first six days of recorded history, God made
pretty much everything. Day one: Light, separated from darkness;
day two: the heavens, separated from water;  day three: plants
and trees, land and seas;  day four: sun, moon and stars;  day
five:  birds and fish;  and on the sixth day:  animals and man.
And you thought taking the kids to school, football practice,
volleyball practice and band was a busy week.

And so begins the biblical account of the real first family, and
our first parents, Adam and Eve.  Man and woman, made in the
image of God, made for His glory; made in perfection, in the
Garden of Eden.  It also says, "God blessed them," and said,
"Be fruitful and multiply."  So for our first parents, a blessing
and a command to go with the blessing.  What a gift, directly
from the living God, marriage with a blessing.

It is interesting to notice that God created them as adults.  He
did not give them apparent age, He simply created them of age.
Just like he created the earth, not with apparent age, for who
would that be apparent to?  H-e-l-l-o.  God at creation made
everything just as He wanted it.

When He made plants and trees, it was not seedlings.  When
He made the land and seas, it was not a clump of mud and a
puddle.  When He made the sun, moon and stars, it was not
a baby moon, a tiny sun, and some real little stars, He created
them as they are.  The creation of all things by God is repeated
hundreds of times all through the Bible, for us to simply believe
it.

God created the world and all things in it and over it, for the man
and the woman, gave them His blessing, and thus for the entire
time of life on earth, He blessed the institution of marriage.  What
a perfect story: marriage between a man and a woman, with the
blessing of the Creator, thus giving purpose and meaning to man's
existence on earth.

Question is:  if God intended marriage to be perfect bliss, what
happened?  Why is not marriage still perfect?  If God blessed the
institution of marriage and commanded Adam and Eve to be
fruitful and multiply, why is it such a struggle to keep a marriage
and raise a family?  Why all the pain, suffering and lifelong
struggle?

As you remember from when you were a child, and actually heard
a Bible story on Sunday morning, God told Adam and Even not to
eat of the tree of life.  If they ate of it, God said they would die.
And so they ate of the tree of life, and the second they disobeyed
God, they died.  Spiritually, they died immediately.  At once they
were separated from a Holy God.  When they disobeyed God with
the free will which He gave them, they died spiritually, they lost
their free will and the began to die physically.

The proof of that, if you need proof, is that 5772 years later,
according to the Hebrew calendar, everyone still dies.  Men die,
women die, children die, billionaires die, paupers die, everyone
dies.

So in theology, we see terms like, "the federal headship of Adam;"
"original sin;" terms which mean that as the first human on earth,
Adam represented all of us.  When he became a sinner, we were
born in sin.  Original sin which began with Adam's sin now
extends to us.  He died, we die.

But the truth is, the Bible is not a story about man in the garden.
It is the story of Christ in the gospel.  Because of sin, man was
cursed, and instead of perfection, life on earth became nothing
but a struggle for Adam and Eve and everyone born after them.

The gospel teaches that the only way back to God is through the
sacrifice of the Son of God, when He took the sin of man upon
Himself, the just one for the unjust ones, that He might bring
us to God.  There was death for all mankind in the Garden of
Eden, but there is life for all who believe in the Lamb of God,
who takes away the sin of the world.

Greece's Rough Choice

As rough as economic conditions are in the United States, and as intense our presidential election is gearing up to be, I wouldn't want to be in the shoes of Greek voters heading to the polls next month: keep the current government in charge, and the harsh EU austerity controls, or bring in a new voice, which could bust the entire EURO.

Now, I don't exactly believe the EURO is economically healthy for Europe, due to the fact it ties the entire continent to each other and doesn't allow for fair competition between nations, but right now a faction within the currency could lead to complete upheaval of the global economy.

On the flip side, I can understand the underlying nationalist sentiment fueling the Greeks radicalism: they have had nothing but pain come from the EU and the international community making them into the scapegoat for Europe's economic woes, and the return to the drachma.

However, and this is a big one, as painful as this is for me to write - Greece has to keep their current course in regards to the EURO and especially with the ongoing austerity measures because it isn't just their future that's effected by their economy's performance, but the entire continent, and in some ways, the entire world.

They cannot roll the dice and risk Europe; they must stay the course and they must, for the time, keep the EU united and strong. This is not the time for brash decisions, but calm, cool, steady leadership in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

What say you?

Kerry Wood to Retire Today

From the Chicago Tribune:
Kerry Wood reportedly will announce his retirement from baseball Friday afternoon, but still plans to be available in the Chicago Cubs bullpen for the start of the City Series.

Wood broke into the majors in 1998 with the Cubs at the age of 21. Over 14 years in the majors, mostly on the North Side, he compiled a 86-75 record.

ESPNChicago reports that Wood, who has an 8.64 ERA this season and has been battling health issues, will call it quits on the day the City Series starts at Wrigley.

The Cubs had no comment on the report. A source said Wood is available to pitch today and will be in the bullpen. Whether or not manager Dale Sveum will actually use Wood in the game is unknown, but it would be a fitting way for Wood to end his career on the mound at Wrigley Field while receiving a standing ovation...

Wood's last outing was Wednesday against St. Louis. He walked two and blew a one-run lead in the seventh.

Cops, Witnesses Back Up George Zimmerman's Version of Trayvon Martin Shooting

It's almost amazing how quickly the media lynch mob tried to destroy George Zimmerman with no details whatsoever. Now that a tremendous amount of evidence shows how wrong they were, they are no where to be found. From ABC:
Two police reports written the night that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin said that Zimmerman had a bloody face and nose, according to police reports made public today.

The reports also note that two witness accounts appear to back up Zimmerman's version of what happened when they describe a man on his back with another person wearing a hoodie straddling him and throwing punches...

The new information is part of a trove of documents released by the Florida State Attorney today in the case against Zimmerman, who is charged with second degree murder for the Feb. 26 killing of Martin, an unarmed 17-year-old African American male.

Zimmerman, 28, is a multi-racial Hispanic man who volunteered for the neighborhood watch committee who claimed that he shot Martin in self-defense after the 6-foot tall, 160 pound teenager knocked him to the ground, banged his head against the ground and went for Zimmerman's gun.

Scammed by a Kindergardener

Seems that all the new attention to the Amateur-in-Chief stems from
an idiotic, grade school move by the other thug from Chicago;  no,
not Rahm Emanuel, but that devious hack Axelrod.  In his miniscule
political mindset, he actually thought it would be cool to check on
what happened fifty (50) years ago with Mitt Romney, between gym
class and fifth period study hall.  So the goons went out, dug some
"dirt,"  Axelrod let it fly;  lo and behold, nothing stuck.

But it so incensed the anti-Barry movement/the town-drunk is
better than Barry movement/the anybody is better than Barry
group, that they are now on a digging expedition of their own.
Thing is, all the stuff they are after has been the topic of an on-
going discovery process for the last four years.  So it is pretty
easy for them to just dig up the old bones, expose it to the
public again and hope people believe it this time.

We are finding out day by day now, that this country has been
scammed by a kindergardener, cheated by a rank amateur,
bested by a Chicago thug, or group of thugs, and mocked by
an Indonesian pot smoker; with, I hasten to add, a "wife" who
thinks the American flag has no meaning.

My first question is this:  with the multitude of lying scoundrels
in Washington D.C., with their combined thousands of years
experience lying, cheating and stealing from the American public,
how in the world did this kindergardener pull the wool over their
eyes?

It used to be said, "Can anything good come out of Cook County?"
The answer to that question has always been a resounding "NO."

Now the question seems to be, "Can anything good come out of
Washington D.C.?"   And after the last 40 or 50 years of lies, theft,
deceit and corruption, the answer is a resounding "NO."

Out here in America where the real work is done, it is of no use to
ask the question, "Are you better off than you were four years ago?"

That question should be changed to, "Have you been lied to enough
in the last four years?"

The lying politicans who aided and abetted Barry/Harry J. Bounel/
obama/Dunham/Davis are now jumping ship in droves.  Not one
vote in either the Congress or Senate for his gi-normous so called
budget.

Their only thought now, besides getting re-elected is, "Bring on the
next idiot, we'll deal with him/her/it next year.  Pass the Havanas,
pour some more Scotch, and turn on American Idol."

Obama Budget Goes Down 99-0 in Democrat-Controlled Senate

From The Hill:
A budget resolution based on President Obama’s 2012 budget failed to get any votes in the Senate on Wednesday.

In a 99-0 vote, all of the senators rejected the president’s blueprint.

It’s the second year in a row the Senate has voted down Obama’s budget.

Obama's 2012 budget failed 97 to 0 last May after Obama himself last April said he wanted deeper deficit cuts.
The White House sought to provide cover for Democrats to vote against the Obama budget resolution before the vote, arguing the resolution offered by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) was different from Obama’s budget because it did not include policy report language.

Democrats made the same point on the floor Wednesday in explaining their votes.

Time for Another Name Change, Barry

Dear Mr. President -

And I use the term loosely.

Well, Barry, it's time to start packing for parts unknown.  Your
fifteen minutes of horrendously expensive fame are up.  It's
over.  Your gravy train has finally run out.  No more golf at our
expense.  No more late night ESPN on taxpayer funded cable.  No
more junketing around the world looking for more places to junket
to.  No more "I am a rock star/part time world leader."  No more
spending all your time dialing for Hollywood dollars.  Now you'll
just have to beg them to pay you for some speaking gig.  I know,
since you have nothing else to campaign for, you could become an
actor.  Clooney could probably get a bit part for you.  You could
be a regular on "The View."

No more seeing your arrogant mug on television, on the internet,
on every newspaper and magazine in the country, on every super-
market tabloid, oh wait, tabloids will probably still run stories
about you and yours.  And Michelle will be your problem, not
ours.

Barry, it's time for another name change.  All the voter fraud in
Chicago is not going to save you this time.  That fictitious social
security number from Connecticut has to go.  And it might be time
to re-register at the Selective Service Board, for real this time.  After
all, you did do away with the don't ask, don't tell thing.

Here's the deal Barry, nothing you do is working.  All the stunts you
pulled have had no real effect.  The five trillion, the college debt
thing, the health thing, the mortgage thing, and now the gay thing;
it is not working.

The Democrats, the sane ones, are tired of you.  The Republicans
are sick of you.  The rednecks have always been against you.  The
Catholics are now against you.  The Prostestants are against you,
so are the Hugenots, the Pilgrims, the Puritans and the Calvinists.
The Mormons are against you.  The gun and Bible clingers have
always been against you.  Through your arrogance, lies, deceit,
fraud and do-nothing-uselessness, you have managed to
alienate every sane group in the country, and around the world.

The way it's going, you won't get enough votes to be elected
dog catcher in Indonesia.  Manny Paiquaio, from the Philippines
has even weighed in against you.  The Pope is next.  Franklin
Graham thinks you are atilt.  And now you think you can continue
to lecture this country on the Bible and Theology?  Can you read?

America has had enough; of you, of your arrogance, of your
childish, me-first selfishness.  All you have done is tear down and
then blame others for what you have destroyed.  Anything that
you have not managed to ruin, you take credit for.  Have you no
shame?

Even the no good, filled with their own hot air, lying, fraudlent,
crooked media can't save your sorry keister this time.  So, all
you have left now is ACORN,  SEIU and their goon squads.

Your Occupy squatters have fizzled and pooped out.  If the goon
squads can cause enough stink at enough voting places, you might
be able to incite some public disorder, some national emergency
which could lead to a Baby Doc thing, you know, "Obama for
Life," dictatorship thing.

Barring that Barry, you might want to have Michelle begin packing
for the move back to Chicago, or Indonesia, or Kenya, or Hawaii,
or Connecticut or where-ever.  Tell her to leave the light bulbs and
toilet paper.  As John McLaughlin says, BYE - BYE!

Is Virginia Delegate Marshall Qualified to Serve in the U.S. Senate?

As many know there is an open senate seat in Virginia due to the retirement of Senator Jim Webb.  Four republicans are vying for the GOP nomination to go up against Tim Kaine, our former governor and former head of the DNC.  One of the republicans that is looking for the nod is Delegate Bob Marshall.

Very early yesterday morning (I mean really early, 1:30 AM) the Virginia House of Delegates took some votes for judgeships as the final act of this years activity for the legislator.  Most of the judges sailed right through.  Except for one, the appointment of Tracy Thorne-Begland has been denied a seat on the Virginia court.  Thorne-Begland is a former Navy, currently a prosecutor in the Richmond area, and gay.

He served in the military before President Clinton enacted the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy.  Thorne-Begland was honorably discharged from the Navy after he questioned the policy of not allowing gays to serve.  Honorably discharged.  The Navy had no choice at the time to release him from the service as the law was clear, gay people were not allowed to serve.  But, he was not stripped of his rank or given a dishonorable discharge.  Which the Navy would have been able to do had they wanted to at the time.

Bob Marshall never questioned the qualifications of Thorne-Begland, he only hammered home the fact that Thorne-Begland was a "homosexual activist".  There was no other questioning of his qualifications other than being against the now defunct ban on gays in the military.  Nothing about his record as a prosecutor.  Since it never came up, one would can easily assume that his record is a good one.  Marshall questioned whether he can uphold the Virginia's Constitution since our law states that marriage is between one man and one woman.  That alone is what disqualified him from the seat on the bench.  He has already taken this oath as a prosecutor.  There is nothing in his prosecutorial record to suggest that he has not upheld his oath.

One of the biggest problems with this argument is that the court Thorne-Begland would have been serving on would not be answering questions on this issue.  It is not a court of record.  Meaning that if the decision is appealed, the case is then heard at the next level as it never been heard before.  Any decision that is made at this level will have no record.  There will be no opinion put in writing. How exactly could one be a "judicial activist" at this level?  It would seem to me that Bob Marshall simply doesn't like gay people.  Which is fine, he is entitled to his opinion.

But the question has to be asked, can Bob Marshall serve in the U.S. Senate when it is clear that he  is willing to discriminate against people simply based on what they do in their bedroom?  Mr. Thorne-Begland isn't running around the country being an activist, which then would question his impartiality. He is in Richmond, doing his job and raising a family.  You can disapprove of his "lifestyle" all you want, but do you get to say that someone shouldn't have a job that they are otherwise qualified for simply based on sexuality?  That is exactly what Delegate Marshall did.

Bob Marshall is not fit to serve in the U.S. Senate if he is this willing to discriminate against someone due to a private and very personal matter.  Thorne-Begland deserved a fair hearing for his qualifications for the position.  Not the witch hunt that Delegate Marshall allowed the proceeding to turn into.  One of the judgeships that sailed through easily was a former delegate who comes from a family of union activists.  It seems pretty clear that the only thing Thorne-Begland has against him is what he does in his bedroom.  Shame on Delegate Marshall.  Not only do I hope that you don't get the nod for the GOP nomination for the senate seat, I hope that your district wakes up and sends you packing when it comes time for your re-election to the House of Delegates in November of 2013.  So thanks Delegate Marshall for making all Virginia republicans look as intolerant as you are.

George W. Bush Endorses Romney

From ABC:
Mitt Romney has the support of George W. Bush.

“I’m for Mitt Romney,” Bush told ABC News this morning as the doors of an elevator closed on him, after he gave a speech on human rights a block from his old home — the White House.

Bush’s endorsement isn’t a surprise, given that Romney is virtually the Republican Party’s nominee. But the 43rd president has been absent from the 2012 campaign and hasn’t made any public comments showing his support for Romney.

Romney did get the formal backing of Bush’s parents, President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush, in March.

People who worked in the Bush administration say they doubt the former president will be campaigning for Romney this year. Even in his post-presidential life, Bush still gets a lot of the blame for the poor economy, according to polls, though he has become more popular since leaving office.

Barry Soetoro  alias  Richard Cory

Whenever Barry Soetoro went downtown,
we people in Indonesia looked at him;
he was a shyster from sole to crown,
ganja smoker, stubble on his chin.

He was always gay-ly arrayed,
always "me first" when he talked;
but he still fluttered pulses when he said -
"Selamat page," and he wiggled when he walked.

He was poor, he was, and just an organizer,
and admirably schooled in every grace,
we thought he was so much wiser,
and we wished we could be in his place.

So on we worked, we had not seen the light,
stuck in Indonesia, just glad to be a resident;
and Barry Soetoro one calm summer night -
went across the sea to become president.

CBS/NY Times Poll: Romney Leads Obama with Men and Women

The "War on Women" BS is failing. From CBS:
Presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has a slight edge over President Obama in the race for the White House in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll.

According to the survey, conducted May 11-13, 46 percent of registered voters say they would vote for Romney, while 43 percent say they would opt for Mr. Obama. Romney's slight advantage remains within the poll's margin of error, which is plus or minus four percentage points.

Last month, a CBS News/New York Times poll showed Mr. Obama and Romney locked in a dead heat, with both earning 46 percent support among registered voters. Polls conducted in February and March showed Mr. Obama with an advantage over Romney, while a January poll showed Romney edging out Mr. Obama 47 percent to 45 percent. Another January poll showed the two tied.

Neither candidate, however, has had more than a six-point lead over the other since CBS News/New York Times began conducting head-to-head in polls this January.

Despite recent controversies surrounding issues like same-sex marriage, which Mr. Obama came out in support of last week, the poll indicates that the economy remains the most important issue to voters in the presidential election.

Ron Paul Drops Out of Presidential Race

From the Washington Times:
Rep. Ron Paul of Texas said Monday he will not compete in primaries in any of the states that have not yet voted — essentially confirming Mitt Romney will win the Republican presidential nomination.

Mr. Paul said he will continue to work to win delegates in states that have already voted and where the process of delegate-selection is playing out. He said that’s a way to make his voice heard at the Republican nominating convention in Tampa, Fla., in August.

“Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted,” Mr. Paul said. “Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.”

He did encourage his supporters to still turn out and vote.

His decision not to compete for new votes in other states leaves Mr. Romney as the only candidate still actively fighting for voters’ support in the 11 states still to vote. That list includes the biggest prizes on the board — Texas and California.

Theology vs. Obama

There is not much in the news or politics as pathetically ignorant and
completely ridiculous as the secular discussion of a theological
issue.

Gay marriage?  There is no such thing as gay marriage.

And all the semantics, word play and hopey changey will not make
it so.  Gay marriage?  No such thing.  There are simply those men
and women who choose to live outside the limits that God placed
on human relationships at creation.

All of the media coverage, Hollywood movies, actors and self-
important political statements can never make marriage into a
homosexual thing.

Marriage is a biblical institution.  To discuss marriage outside of
the biblical foundation is simply an exercise in the worst sort of
folly.

God made man at creation, and God made woman for the man.
Then God said, "A man shall leave his father and mother and be
joined unto his wife and they two shall be one flesh."

Any re-definition of marriage is a man centered, personal rebellion
to the law of God, and of course destined to the junkyard of stupid
ideas.

There is the idea today that if one has a college degree, is a professor,
a doctor, has a position of prominence in the community, is an
actor in Hollywood, has a lot of money or holds a political office, that
they are somehow qualified to lecture the rest of the hoi polloi on
any issue they see fit.

Too bad the Big Bang Theory did not come with a manual.  Oh wait,
there was no big bang, that sound was just a Tyrannosaurus Rex
farting.

However, if one truly believes that nothing created everything, and
all we are is animals who crawled up on the beach looking for a
Starbucks and a same sex partner, then I guess the only thing to do
is re-define everything the way we would like it to be.

Personally, I think there should be four strikes in baseball, punting
should be outlawed in football and all hot dogs should be Hebrew
National.  But I am not from Indonesia and masquerding as the
president.

Homosexual marriage?  No way.  It is news today, used to sell
magizines and get votes, but it is just a fairy tale, told by an
idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Austerity Leaders Rebuked in Europe

Coming just days after the French rebuked then-president Sarkozy for supporting strong austerity measures across the board at home and continent wide, Germany's largest state delivered Merkel's Christian Democrats a crushing blow while delivering the Social Democrats and Green coalition a strong victory.

This has political observers worried that Chancellor Merkel's insistence on continent-wide austerity could very well result in her governing coalition losing power in next year's parliamentary elections, due to Europeans tiring of stringent cuts on social spending and limiting entitlements, preferring the governments to "grow their way out of the crisis."

All of this is bad news for Europe's economic crisis, because the leaders pushing for government to become leaner and more responsible are slowly being replaced, while the situation has hardly been resolved and in Greece is still threatening the weak stability of the entire continent's economy.

However, on an ironic note, this turn away from austerity and the possibility of more nations busting could lead investors to return to the United States, that even though we're still embroiled in the great recession, our treasury notes and economy in general is still light years healthier then our European counterparts.

Regardless, the fall of austerity's leaders in Europe is a troubling trend.

Barry at the Bat

The outlook wasn't brilliant for the Chicago team that day,
the score stood 50 to 42 with one inning left to play.
So when ACORN died at first and SEIU did the same,
a sickly silence fell upon the leftists in the game.

A socialist few got up to go in deep despair, the rest clung
to the hope/change which springs eternal in the human breast;
they thought if only Barry could get a whack at that,
they'd stuff in more false ballots now, with Barry at the bat.

But Rahm let drive a single to the wonderment of all,
Biden, the much despised, tore the cover off the ball.
When the dust had lifted and they saw what had occured,
there was Biden safe on second and Rahm a-huggin' third.

Then from the gladdened commies went up a joyous yell,
it bounded from the mountaintops and rattled down to hell;
it was heard out in Chicago where all the crooks were at -
for Barry, gay marriage Barry, was advancing to the bat.

There was pride in Barry's manner, he stepped into his place;
Arrogance in his bearing and a smirk on Barry's face,
responding to Hollywood's cheers, he grinned and tipped his hat -
no socialist in the crowd could doubt, 'twas Barry at the bat.

The blue states were cheering as he dished out more dirt,
the red states all hissed him as it all stuck to his shirt;
while the flyover states got the vote out trip by trip -
defiance gleamed in Barry's eye, hatred curled his lip.

The votes came in with Barry behind, and in deep despair,
the boys in Chicago were helping but Barry was not there;
coke dust and ganja smoke rose up from the shed,
"not to worry guys," the crooked Rahm Emanuel said.

From the blue states filled with losers came up a sullen roar,
like the beating of the storm waves from an Indonesian shore;
"Stack the ballots, stack the ballots," shouted someone on the sand,
its likely they'd have stacked them, had not Barry raised his hand.

With a grin of villainous treason, poor Barry's visage shone,
he stilled the rising riots, he bade the count go on;
he signaled to the teleprompter, the boring game went on -
Barry wasn't worried yet, he knew which lines were drawn.

"Fraud" yelled the Socialists, the Chicago answered "Fraud,"
One pompous look from Barry and the communists were awed.
They saw his face grow stern and cold, they saw his anger strain;
they knew that Barry was about to pass the blame.

The sneer is gone from Barry's lips, his teeth are clenched in hate,
he calls for cruel violence, but he knows it's getting late.
Now the count is coming in, now it makes the air -
the angry glare from Barry, he thinks it isn't fair --

Oh, somewhere in Indonesia the sun is shining bright,
back here in Chicago, the thugs have just begun to fight;
the tea party is cheering, Republicans begin to shout --
for Barry, that composite Barry, has finally struck out.

Mothers' Day Bible Story

And there went a man from the house of Levi, and took
as his wife a Levite woman.  And the woman conceived
and bore a son;  and when she saw he was beautiful to
God, she hid him for three months.  When she could no
longer hide him, she made for him a basket of bulrushes,
placed the child in it and placed it among the reeds by
the riverbank.  And his sister stood at a distance to see
what would be done to him.  Exodus 2:1-4; Acts 7:20

Since this is the one Sunday of the year that we celebrate
Mothers, this is a good passage from which to discover
what traits in a Mother that God uses to accomplish His
work in the world.

You are probably familiar with this old testament story.
The children of Israel were captives in Egypt and had
been for several generations.  But even in captivity,
"the children of Israel were fruitful and increased
abundantly, and multiplied, and grew exceeding mighty
and the land was filled with them."

Historically as has been the case when God's people
begin to gain strength and numbers, un-believing
governments, rulers and kings always decide that the
best way to deal with them is to start killing babies.  In
any land where the true God is rejected, it has always
been and is now that the life of the child has always
been deemed expendable by tyrants.

So the king of Egypt commands the midwives that as
they deliver the babies of the children of Israel, if it is
a male, kill him, if it is a daughter, let them live.

But in this case, Jochebed, the mother of Moses, shows
some down to earth qualities of a God-fearing mother
which would insure that the work of God in the world
would continue according to His plan.  It is true that
Moses was a great man and did great things for God,
but if it was not for a mother who loved him and
was willing to exchange her life for his, he would have
been nothing.

We hear much about great men in the world, and very
little about the mothers who raised them and taught
them by example and precept, how to live and serve.

There are three qualities in Jochebed, the mother of
Moses which reveal why Moses became and still is
a hero to his people.  Perhaps the bottom line message
here is that if men are to do the job of men, they need
gracious, kind and loving mothers to guide them when
they are young.

The first quality of note in Jochebed is faithfulness to
God.  Of course she makes the list of faith in Hebrews
chapter eleven.  Faithfulness in the life of a mother is
perhaps the one foundation which insures the doing
of all the other qualities necessary to bring up a child
in a Biblical manner.  The 137 chapters in the Bible
devoted to the life and exploits of Moses would never
have been possible except for the one paragraph here
devoted to his faithful mother.  Faithfulness to God
may well be a mother's greatest virtue.

The next quality which stands out here is courage.
History books are full of men who were strong and
brave and did great things for their country and for
their people.  Where did Moses learn that strength?
From his mother.  He was never more courageous
than his mother.  Funny thing, that this time of year
when we are in the midst of such a ridiculous, evil
version of politics, that we would be praising a
mother for her courage in defying the edict of an
ungodly leader.  The truth is, it was the courage of
a mother in defying the political weakness of the
king which saved her son, and set the children of
Israel free from bondage.

Here is a woman whose only duty in life was the
birthing and raising of her children, yet she makes
the hero's list in the old and new testaments, and
was great in the eyes of God.  She was not afraid
of the King's law, and she was not afraid of the
King.  Suffice it to say that the greatest need in
our country today is godly mothers who are not
afraid to defy culture and politics in order to obey
the one true God.

And of course, if you read the old testament, you
find that Moses, when he was grown, had that
same quality.  He was not afraid of the wrath of
the king, and he aquired that trait from his mama.

Last quality of Jochebed is care for her son.  You
can read the story, she gave him up to God, cared
for him all the way, and God gave him back to
her to raise.  Funny thing, during the time the king
was making an industry of killing babies, the
mother of Moses was raising a son who would
deliver the Jews from this monster of a king.

One more thing, what if she had given up, done
what the king said, taken the easy way and let
Moses be killed.  After all, that was the law of
the land.  Should she have obeyed it?  Should
we?  Echoing down through history the answer
is a resounding NO.  The law of God always
takes precedence over the law of man,
especially when man's laws stand in violent
opposition to the laws of God.

Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a
woman who fears the Lord, she shall be
praised.  Her children shall rise up and call
her blessed and her husband also.  Happy
Mothers' Day.

The Tea Party Rocked it Today - Virginia 8th District Delegate Convention

Virginia 8th will not be added to growing list of Ron Paul delegates.  Although they tried.  The Tea Party slated delegates will all be going onto Tampa to make sure that the party platform stays conservative.

We also have a rock star in our midst.  Meet Evan Draim.  One of the youngest ever to be attending a GOP convention as a voting delegate.  He is just finishing up his junior year in high school.  Evan is helping to spread the tea party message to high school students far and wide and is very active in his schools republican club and an all around activist.

Not only is he adorable, he is very enthusiastic.  His energy and committment to the cause is truly infectious.
Here is Evan in his two-minute speech before the convention today.  He garnered the most votes, and this was the best attended convention in our history.  Almost double the size from 4 years ago.

Sadly, his video will not embed here, but you can see it here:    A short video you should watch and remember this name.  You will be hearing more from young Mr. Draim.

Here is Marta, Erin, and Evan at our celebration lunch after the convention.
Congrats to all who earned their place at Tampa later this summer.  Make no mistake, getting elected delegate is work.

It seems that I will also be joining them down in Tampa in August, so yeah me!!!

Back Off of J.P. Morgan

The financial world is shocked, shocked I tell you, that J.P. Morgan lost over $2 billion in a risky investment and that federal regulators, who have increased powers since the 2008 crisis, failed to prevent the sizable loss.

J.P. Morgan, which is one of the healthiest and most successful banks in America, lost near 10% yesterday on the market, as investors punished them for their risky bet.

However, the question needs to be asked: isn't this much ado about nothing?

Hundreds of companies and millions of individuals invest their money into the stock market and various businesses every day of week, and while most of them invest on sure bets, there are those who wager on risky propositions. If they succeed, no-one questions their judgement and are often lauded for their ability to take risks, but if they fail - well, just look at J.P. Morgan's stock price.

The bank took a risk, and obviously failed - losing $2 billion in the process. But isn't that a part of investing? Sometimes you win big and sometimes you lose big. I understand the worry and fear of investors and general observers over risky behavior that led to the 2008 meltdown, but that doesn't mean risk is something to avoid, because most American companies wouldn't be where they are if they didn't take risks... and where would be if they didn't?

So, please, everyone take a step back from the outrage over J.P. Morgan. They took a chance, and lost horrifically. But that doesn't mean (1.) that would they did was wrong, considering the entire concept of investing is to take risks and (2.) they need to be punished for their actions, especially since $2 billion is forever lost.

And besides, if J.P. Morgan's stock continues to drop, that might just be a risk I'm willing to take...

What say you?

Parades

When I was a little boy, my father took me to a parade!
What will Happen Next Week?

You have to believe that the "gutsy call" and the "evolutionary decision"
primed timed by Barry Soetoro last week were simply next in line on
Axelrod's list for trashing Mitt Romney; ie. second week in May, the
hair cutting thing, all the networks are on board;  pump Barry with the
gay thing.  Funny thing, if you have ever ordered T-shirts in many
different styles, you know how long it takes for delivery.  Barry's
store started selling them yesterday, in pink and lavender. Oh, neat.

And the "Strumpets in the Media for Soetoro" are playing right along
because they have the same list from Axelrod, and they need their
share of the Barry Billion.

I haven't seen Axelrod's list, but here are a few things that may pop
up next week:

They're going to find out that Mitt Romney ate at a Michigan Mac-
Donalds in late 1967 and did not finish his Happy Meal, which means
that he really doesn't care about hungry kids in America.  An eye
witness will be procured, who still works at the same MacDonalds
and can't speak about the incident without breaking down.

And, this one will have scratchy video: he was seen cheering for
one of his sons at a ball game, not sure of the place and time, seems
his son hit a home run.  Mitt cheering in public can only mean one
thing:  he had no regard for the feelings of the pitcher who gave up
the home run.  And that means of course he does not care about
the millions of kids in America who aren't good enough to hit home
runs.

Ann has been out of the news for a week now, so how's this one?
The scuzbuckets in the media also have a real old video for this
incident.  Seems Ann packed a school lunch one day for one of
the boys, and all the kid had to eat was a turkey and mayo sanwich,
some Pringles, homemade cookies and water.  Which means that
the National Dairy Association will need to do some research on
why there was no milk or cheese, thus proving that Ann Romney
has no idea about nutrition for millions of school kids.  And in a
fortunate for Barry twist of events, Brian Williams found an
eyewitness.  She is 102 years old, but remembers the event in
precious detail.  The spinster is still traumatized though, and
needed her grand-daughter Julia to relate the information to
Brian Williams in a cartoon.

These are just a few examples of what you can do when you are
a self proclaimed celebrity, with unlimited media access and
big political power.  Better yet, if you are an arrogant, pompous,
pathological liar, you can just tell Axelrod to make up some
stuff and see if it sticks.  Then that Chicago thug/lackey can
get busy making the country proud of our American political
process.  Keep it up Barry, we're not laughing with you, we
are laughing at you.

GOP Opens 12-Point Lead in WI Senate Race

With the recall election facing sitting Governor Scott Walker heating up, the Republican base appears to be backing their candidates. Walker has opened up a five point lead, according to recent polling, and even received more primary votes than the top two Democratic candidates combined.

The Republican Party may have some thinking to do about the race for President in that state later this year, but it appears that the race for Senate is getting better. Former Governor Tommy Thompson appears to be running away with the race for an open Senate seat. This comes after incumbent Democrat Russ Feingold was defeated in 2010.

This poll comes to us from Rasmussen and shows Thompson leading his Democratic opponent Tammy Baldwin.

Thompson (R): 50%
Baldwin (D): 38%
Other/dk: 12%

Now, the race at the top of the ticket may give Baldwin a bit of a boost, but Thompson will likely pick up some of the undecided voters. With Thompson already at 50% and with a highly energized GOP, this may be a pickup for the party in the Senate.

Romney Surges to Within Four... In Oregon!

Perhaps you've been to Oregon, the hipster capital of the Pacific rim? The land of Subarus and home to Portland is sometimes seen as a bastion for Democratic and other left-of-center politicians. The state has shifted quite significantly to the left in the last decade, especially as the California exodus continues apace.

So Democrat Barack Obama should be winning by a landslide margin, correct? After all, he won by 16 points in 2008. After his endorsement of gay marriage, he should be surging-- and at least holding the ground he once held.

Instead, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has cut the Obama lead quite significantly. Two months ago, Romney was behind by 11%. That deficit has been cut by nearly 2/3.

According to a new Survey USA poll, Romney is within striking distance.

Obama: 47%
Romney: 43%
Other/dk: 10%

This follows with the trend across the country. Romney is gaining ground as the GOP starts to coalesce around his candidacy.

Romney Surges to New Lead on Obama

Former Massaschusetts Governor Mitt Romney has opened a widened lead on President Barack Obama. Battered by poor economic news, the President has dipped, while Romney is surging on new GOP unity. While still early in the race, this is good news for the Republican nominee.

This new poll comes to us from Rasmussen, which is the most reliable of the major pollsters. This also comes as Romney has had some success against Obama in the polls so far. This, however, is the largest yet.

Romney: 50%
Obama: 43%
Other/don't know: 7%

This is more good news for the Romney campaign. Gallup has Romney up by three, as well.

Romney: 47%
Obama: 44%
Other/don't know: 9%

The numbers are moving in Romney's direction, and the significant number of undecideds tend to break away from the incumbent. With no leaners in there, the numbers for Rasmussen (assuming a 2/1 break away from Obama) would be:

Romney: 54.6%
Obama: 45.4%

Looks like a healthy margin so far.

Clinton: Obama an "Amateur"

From the NY Post:
Bill Clinton thought so little of President Obama — mocking him as an “amateur” — that he pressed his wife last summer to quit her job as secretary of state and challenge him in the primaries, a new book claims.

“The country needs you!” the former president told Hillary Clinton, urging her to run this year, according to accounts of the conversation included in Edward Klein’s new biography of Obama.

The title of Klein’s explosive, unauthorized bio of Obama, “The Amateur” (Regnery Publishing), was taken directly from Bill Clinton’s bombshell criticism of the president, the author said.

“Barack Obama,” Bill Clinton said, according to book excerpts, “is an amateur.”

Doublespeak, Doubletrouble

BTW:  Barney Frank says he will not invite Barry to his upcoming
wedding.  just sayin'

Okay, the re-definition of marriage thing.  Barry actually thinks he did
something courageous?  That's a laugh.  He is a Chicago politician.  It
is always with them, "what did we gain and what did we lose?"  The
answer to that is, he gained nothing except some Hollywood money,
and he lost the White House, fortunately.  The arrogance of this self
important potentate reminds one of a poem by Emily Dickinson:

How dreary to be somebody!
How public like a frog
to tell your name the livelong day
to an admiring bog.

So we see Barry, thinking he is somebody, croaking his own name,
well, an alias, to the public who he thinks is in love with him.  Alas,
they are not.  He is in love with himself, and he shows himself to be
the most insecure person on the planet.  Like a skinny little bullfrog
he thinks he has to croak his name all day and all night, to remind
everyone in the bog that he is still there.  In the trade, we call this,
over-exposure.

He now thinks because he usurped the presidency that he now has
authority to re-define marriage?  Lets see, God created the world
and all things in it, He made Adam in His likeness, He created Eve
for Adam, and called her the mother of all the living.  So, here
comes pitchman Barry Soetoro, shilling for a few votes and a few
dollars, so he can keep on croaking in the bog, and he shouts--
"But wait --  there's more.  Men don't have to marry women if
they don't want to.  Women don't have to marry men if they don't
want to.  My position has evolved, after having some snacks with
Malia and Sasha, pass the cheese dip please."

Well, to invoke Charles Darwin is really going out on a limb.
Chuck was married to a woman, albeit his cousin Emma.  Not
sure if his theory of evolution extended to the upcoming gala
wedding of Barney and Jim, or to the political aspirations of
Barry Soetoro.  But with that loud noise from the Big Bang,
one never knows.

If Barry would tell the truth for once, he could have said that
he has always been for gay marriage, well, homosexual
marriage.  Actually Barry, that's why the Greeks referred to
it as homo-sex: same sex.  And as you know, some countries
are so against it, as a deviant aberration that they outlaw the
act.  But what do you care?  You're a thug from Chicago, thug
smuggling city of political strumpets.

Re-defining marriage?  What will you re-define it as next year,
when you get back to Chicago and become bored?  As your
evolutionary process continues in the survival of the stupidest,
will you define marriage as between a human and an animal?
You said evolution.  Or will it be a union of a Bobcat T-180
and a Peterbilt semi?  What the heck, Bawreck, if you think
you can re-define it, you can make it anything you want.

This slippery personal political slope you are on is very steep
and you are not moving up.  You have been breathing your own
air too long, and in that totally narcissistic process, you are
suffocating.

America Lost in a Bubble

All bubbles burst.  This is a law of nature.  No matter from what material the bubble arises.  No matter what forces propel its expansion.  All bubbles burst.

Actually the science of bursting bubbles has recently popped into the forefront of scientific discovery.  Conventional wisdom has taught since the beginning of time that when a bubble bursts it simply vanishes.  However, recent observations using high speed cameras has revealed that when a bubble bursts it leaves a circle of miniature daughter bubbles that pop so fast the eye cannot catch it.  There is even the thought that each daughter bubble leaves a ring and each daughter bubble leaves a ring ad infinitum.   All happening so fast it cannot be seen.  And yet, each succeeding bubble bursts.

The physics of bubbles tells us that the pressure on the inside works against the tension on the surface and a ratio between the two determines when the bubble will burst.  No matter how it bursts, no matter why or when it bursts one thing is certain: all bubbles burst.

In economics a bubble is the term commonly used for a cycle characterized by rapid expansion followed by rapid often dramatic contraction.  What causes economic bubbles is often a matter of dispute among economists.  Some believe they are a natural part of the economic cycle: everything goes up, and everything eventually comes back down.

Others believe they are caused by inflation.  In this scenario everything has a natural price which is the intersection of cost and demand.  The Bubble is the artificial rise of price over the natural price.  Eventually the economy must correct itself and the inflated product will return to its natural price.

No matter which theory you subscribe to, one thing is certain: all bubbles burst.

Remember the Clinton years?  Today the official History as dispensed constantly by the Corporations Once Known as the Mainstream Media is that the wise and benevolent rule of the man from Hope was a time of plenty.  There was solid growth and balanced budgets.  As the Progressive narrative goes, President Clinton alone was responsible for the growth of the nineties which Bush the Younger proceeded to destroy leaving a mess for President Obama who has fought valiantly to restart the economy and save the day.  At least that’s the story as dispensed by the headlines and the talking heads.

The reality is approximately 180 degrees opposite of the spin.

President Clinton won a three way election with less than 50% of the vote (twice) and called it a mandate both times.  The policies he opposed for his entire career had recently won the Cold War, and President Clinton reaped the rewards.  He gutted the military and called it a Peace Dividend which he proceeded to spend on social engineering projects pumping up the economy with government spending.  Then the Dot-com Boom turned into the Dot-com Bubble and the economy was roaring.  Another plus for Clinton was the defeat of Hillarycare which would have torpedoed the economy just as Obamacare is now.  He also profited by the election of a Republican House in 1994 which kept the promises in the Contract With America and led the way in cutting spending and building a budget that at least appeared to be balanced.

Everything was coming up roses. The economy was growing and so was the Dot-com Bubble, which everyone just knew would go on forever even though anyone older than the milk in the fridge should have known that all bubbles burst.

In 2000 George II won a contested election, and before he had time to change the drapes in the Oval Office the Dot-com Bubble burst.  This led to a short sharp recession; this was the one that Bush didn’t blame on Clinton.  He instead passed the now infamous Bush tax cuts and mailed out what he called rebates in the form of free money to spur the economy.  All the while behind the scenes the housing bubble was beginning to inflate to epic proportions.   Federal spending grew, the government grew, and the bubble grew.

During the go-go years people with no job, no money, and sometimes no ID were able to buy McMansions for no money down and walk out with cash in their hands.  How could this ever go wrong?  I remember hearing of people bidding on houses, offering 10% over the asking price and losing out to someone who offered more.  Prices went up and up and up and somehow even sane people apparently thought it would never end.

Things looked good.  Things looked very good.  Following the recession which began seven weeks after President Bush took office, America had six years of uninterrupted economic growth.  There were fifty two straight months of job creation producing more than eight million new jobs, the unemployment averaged 5.3 %, after-tax income per capita increased by11%, from 2000 to 2007, and GDP grew by more than 17 % adding almost $2.1 trillion.  Exotic ways to paper over the fact that people with no money were buying houses fueling the boom kept everyone smiling and the bubble expanding.

The only problem was that eventually all bubbles burst.  And when it did John McCain suspended his presidential race to fly back to Washington and add his hearty, “Me Too” to the bailout and seal his fate.

President Obama took office as the economy crashed into the deepest recession since World War Two.  He immediately began blaming President Bush and hasn’t stopped yet.  He passed the largest stimulus bill in American History, began a record expansion of the Federal government, and the largest spending binge since the beginning of time.  All in the name of cleaning up the mess from the bursting of the housing bubble.

And what are all these trillions of dollars in reckless spending doing?  Are they inflating another bubble?  Change the words and you change the perception: spending becomes investment and responsibility becomes austerity.  Those who are manning the pumps aren’t blowing up a financial bubble they are showing compassion for their fellow man and investing for the future.  Anyone who warns of a coming crash or tries to slow the rate of spending is pushing grandma off the cliff for the benefit of millionaires and billionaires.

No matter how this mad dash to nowhere is spun one thing is certain: all bubbles burst

On the brighter side President Obama has perfected the cure for illegal immigration.  The economy has taken such a massive hit that the illegal immigrants are leaving looking for greener pastures.  And he has also brought the solution to a 10%+ unemployment rate.  So many people have become discouraged that they have dropped out of the labor market, and according to our current administration this is good news.  Perhaps we should take a cue from Mr. Obama’s favorite pastime and just consider his first term a mulligan.

Maybe the slogan for President Obama’s second term shouldn’t be “Forward.” Perhaps it should be “I deserve a re-do.”

Just remember: all bubbles burst.

A Dark and Stormy Week

It was a dark and stormy week for the Soetoro campaign.  Started
off bad and got worse.  There are many reasons for this, not the
least of which is that he has been campaigning his entire political
life.  This campaign began on the day Barry took office, so when
he tried to use the Ohio State Campus as a kickoff, the ball fell off
the tee and the game was called for lack of interest.

Then there is the Barry Soetoro thing.  Who is this guy?  No one
knows, well Rod Blagojevich knows but he is is prison.  The
clubs in Chicago know, but at Down Low and Man's Country,
they're not talking, too scared of the goon squad.

And there's the five trillion dollar thing. (5,000,000,000,000)  But
over the life of the note, paid for by the taxpayers, it will be more
like fifteen trillion dollars. (15,000,000,000,000)  Wouldn't be so
bad except Barry just stole the money from the people who did
not vote for him, and gave it to the people who did, thus making
his personal American dream possible.

Then there is Barry's do nothing useful presidency.  He golfed
a lot, I mean a lot.  Watched a lot of ESPN, vacationed when
he wasn't golfing, at a cost of millions and millions of taxpayer
dollars, while he was telling the American people, "Hey, we're
all in this together.  I know times are tough, but hey, I'm a
president."  And there's his wife, whats-her-name who is busy
tarnishing the reputation of first ladies everywhere.  Better
hurry cutie, you only got six months left to do your thang.  It
will only take Ann Rommney about 30 days to make us forget
your bitter, snotty behavior.

And then there's the gay thing."Oh, by the way America, here's
how my thinking has evolved since the other night. The fam and
I were having Kobe steak, rare of course, braised aspargus with
an onion/lemon sauce reduction, marinated olives with herbs and
anise, roasted chesnuts with black pepper honey, and for desert,
black forest chocolate cake with caramel rasberry icing and a
bittersweet double chocolate sauce, and oh, yeah, that gay
marriage thing, okay by me, where's the TV clicker, is the
game on yet?"

But final straw in Barry's horrendously dark and stormy "first"
campaign kickoff week is that everyone in the country, Dems,
Reps, and Independents have realized that Barry Soetoro is
nothing but a stuffed shirt, morally empty, narcissistic final
example of what politics in America has come to.  He has no
tricks left, used 'em all up.  Got no fastball, no slider, and he
has thrown so many spitters, we know them by now.  He has
been lying the whole time, and he is all out of lies.

The bunch of floozies who have been crafting the material
for Barry's teleprompter are fresh out of lies.  All Barry has
for this campaign is Barry.  Americans are tired of whats-
her name, tired of hearing the Chicago chin music, tired
of hearing how great the "first family" is, and how dumb,
fat and classless the rest of us are.

All Barry can do now is golf every weekend, vacation six
or eight more times generate some new "friends" at his
"pickup" basketball games, look for a soft spot to land in
Chicago, and keep on doing what he has always done best -
nothing useful.
