Vote: Will the United States Go Off the "Fiscal Cliff?"

With the balance of power in Washington hardly changed, many people have now changed their attention to the looming "fiscal cliff" of sequestration and tax increases. Neither side seems to want the United States to go off the fiscal cliff, but neither side seems to apt to compromise either.

So the question for you today is, will the United States go over the fiscal cliff? Or will politicians in Washington work something out? Or will they just kick the can down the road like they've been doing for years on this issue?

2016 Polling Already Begins

Sigh. The election was this week, and there's already polling out for potential 2016 candidates. From Politico:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would start out as a dominant favorite in the 2016 Iowa caucuses if she chooses to run for president, a new survey from Public Policy Polling finds.

The PPP poll, which was shared exclusively with POLITICO, shows Clinton taking 58 percent of the Iowa vote in a hypothetical presidential run. Vice President Joe Biden trails far behind at 17 percent, followed by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo at 6 percent and Massachusetts Sen.-elect Elizabeth Warren at 3 percent.

None of the other Democrats tested – Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner – cracked 1 percent in the poll.

Hmm: Obama Received Over 98% in Dozens of VA Districts, Often in Odd (But Similar) Patterns

In looking at the voting data from Richmond, Virginia, an observer is struck by a few things. First is that Mitt Romney and Barack Obama were running neck-and-neck for the first several precincts. Even in heavily democratic precincts, Romney was still garnering around 25-30% of the vote.

Then, all of a sudden, all in order, starting with Precinct 213, Obama received: 90.30% of the vote, then 95.91%, then 89.62%, then 94.68%, then 97.49%, then 94.16%, then 95.09%. Before these Obama numbers began, Romney had gotten over 30% of the vote, and after they finished, Romney shot back up to 23%.

But this wasn't the only "blip" on the radar. Mr. Obama received over 99% of the vote in two precincts in Richmond, over 98% in another two, and over 97% in four. And they all came in peculiar fashion.
Voters in the same districts would go slightly towards Romney or slightly for Obama, then six or seven in a row would be plus-90% for Obama... then go back to slightly for one of the candidates, then again, another five or six in a row 90% for Obama.

The same odd pattern showed up in Norfolk, Virginia. Precincts would be relatively close, going to Obama or Romney. Then they'd explode towards Obama. For example, starting with Precinct 311, Obama received 68.97%, then exploded to 98.08% of the vote, then 98.21%, then 99.05%, then 97.86%, then 97.96%, then immediately dropped to 58.66%. And these heavily-Obama precincts were not all in the same city, but various cities through Virginia.

It's a good thing the vote in Virginia wasn't close, though, right?

Obama Received Astounding 98% of the Vote in Detroit

President Barack Obama defeated Governor Mitt Romney by astounding numbers in Detroit, Michigan, amassing 98% of the vote to Romney's 2%. In a city of over 700,000 people, Mr. Romney was only able to get 6,016 votes according to government tallies.

Mr. Obama received a staggering 281,382 votes, over forty-five times that of the governor. Democrats won heavily in Detroit, though no Democrat who faced a Republican challenger received a higher percent of the vote than the President.
98%
When there were two democrats running for the same office, they received almost the exact same number of votes. Voters, however, always chose the one who appeared on the ballot first slightly more than the democrat who appeared next.

Turnout was just under 51% in the city.

Other interesting results in this campaign include Mr. Obama receivimg over 99% of the vote in numerous districts in Broward County, Florida. In various districts in Cleveland, he received 100% of the vote. In Florida, Mr. Obama received over 99% of the vote in precincts where GOP inspectors had been removed.

McConnell: 'We Have a Voter Mandate Not to Raise Taxes'

Let the games begin. From the Wall Street Journal:
In the wake of President Barack Obama's electoral victory, gleeful Democrats believe that the impending "fiscal cliff" has Republicans trapped into finally accepting higher tax rates. But as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell sits for an interview in his Capitol office 48 hours after the election, one thing is certain: He is in no way chastened by Tuesday's results. If Mr. Obama wants fiscal hand-to-hand combat, he will get it.

"Let me put it very clearly," says the five-term Republican senator from Kentucky. "I am not willing to raise taxes to turn off the sequester. Period." On Jan. 1, Washington faces both a huge tax increase and an automatic spending cut known as the "sequester," which could tip the economy back into recession. A newly emboldened President Obama is likely to take his soak-the-rich case straight to the people, I remind the senator. The political pressure to capitulate could become intense.

"Look, he may think it would be helpful to his presidency to continue to divide and demonize us," says Mr. McConnell. "But my answer will still be short and firm: No. We won't agree to any tax increases that will hurt the economy."

BREAKING: St. Lucie County, Florida Had 141.1% Turnout; Obama Won County

Out of 175,554 registered voters, 247,713 vote cards were cast in St. Lucie County, Florida on Tuesday. Barack Obama won the county.

When faced with the astronomical figures, Gertrude Walker, Supervisor of Elections for St. Lucie County, said she had no idea why turnout was so incredibly high. She was flabbergasted, saying, "We've never seen that here."
"Never seen that here"
Coincidentally (or not), St. Lucie County is also in Allen West's district, where 6,000 votes mysteriously "shifted" from Mr. West to his challenger.
141.1%
Out of the 247,713 cards cast, somehow election machines counted 123,591 total votes.

Along with this questionable result, Mr. Obama also received over 99% of the vote in numerous districts in Broward County. In various districts in Cleveland, he received 100% of the vote. In Florida, Mr. Obama received over 99% of the vote in precincts where GOP inspectors had been removed.

As for the Presidential race, there's no connection between Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida, right?

In Florida: Obama Got Over 99% in Broward County Precincts

President Obama must have run the greatest campaign in the history of campaigns (and he's been telling us he did too). First he got over 99% of the vote in places where GOP inspectors were kicked out in Pennsylvania, then he got 100% of the vote in 21 districts in Cleveland. Now he's done it again!

Down in Broward County, Florida, Mr. Obama came away with more votes than he garnered in 2008, a particularly staggering accomplishment considering he received fewer state-wide totals in both Florida and across the country.
How exactly did he accomplish this? Well, in part thanks to Broward County Precincts L024 to L029 (though I'm sure it's all a coincidence that this happened to precincts all in order).

In those precincts combined, all in order, Mr. Obama won over 99% of the vote, defeating Mitt Romney 5,392 to... 54. Golly, how lucky! This especially impressive because in precincts L019-L022 (L023 doesn't exist) Mr. Romney did over 14 times better than in L024-L029, and the precinct after, did 30 times better.

But hey, is Florida that important in the race for the Presidency?

Good News: Obama Won County in Ohio with 108% Voter Registration

I can't believe President Obama's luck. First, he received over 99% of the vote in districts where GOP inspectors were illegally removed. Next, he won 100% of the vote in 21 districts in Cleveland. Well, he's gotten another lucky break!

Mr. Obama won Wood County in Ohio this year. That's right, Mr. Obama won the majority of Wood County's 108% of registered voters. That's not a typo.

In 2012, 106,258 people in Wood County are registered to vote out of an eligible 98,213. But it certainly must all be a coincidence, right?
108%
Democrat Daniel Gordon, First Ward Council Member, remarked at how well the President had done this election cycle. “There has never been a more efficient and powerful ground game in American politics,” he said. “I think this is a win for the American people, and I’m very proud of all the young people who poured their hearts out into this.”

And secretary of College Democrats Morgan Holliger chimed in, “We won Wood County, we won Ohio.”

Mr. Obama did indeed win Wood County, along with its 108% of voters.

CBO: Obama, Congress Have 52 Days to Avoid Recession

HT: New York Post

The President and Congress have just 52 days to come together and reach a deal to avoid the coming so-called "fiscal cliff" that is steamrolling towards the United States taxpayer, as unless we resolve the scheduled $800 billion in spending cuts and the soon to be lapsed Bush tax cuts, we're looking at another recession.

And that's not me talking; that's the Congressional Budget Office.

According to their estimates, if we allow the spending cuts and tax hikes to occur on January 1st, 2013, the result will be the immediate shrinking of our economy by 0.5%, the average taxpayer paying anywhere from $2,000 to $3,000 more in taxes per year and the unemployment shooting back up to over nine percent.

With the election done and over with, this is a place where President Obama should put behind some of his petty ideological attempts at governing, and meet with Republican leaders on Capitol Hill to not only avoid the second recession in five years, but to start fixing America's fragile and weakening fiscal situation.

This should be Washington's first priority when Congress reconvenes next week to settle 2012's business, but if President Obama's announced trip to Asia is any indicator, he might not have the same interest in avoiding calamity as House Speaker Boehner does. But for the sake of our weak economy, lets hope we can avoid this disaster.

Johnson Sets Libertarian Record for Votes

In the aftermath of Tuesday's, well, depressing victory by President Obama, I noticed something rather interesting in the national results - Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson captured one million one hundred thousand votes, or the highest vote total for their party in history.

Where did this come from?

I knew there was an underbelly of libertarianism that had infected our nation's politics, but did we really just see the small, feeble Libertarian Party double their vote total when turnout was down almost ten million votes from last election... Apparently, that's a yes... But why?

Gary Johnson isn't a household name like Ron Paul is, he wasn't noticed in the GOP primaries - except for a joke involving Obama and dog crap - and his best state was his home New Mexico at 3.5%, or 27,000 votes. None of the aforementioned factoids point towards Johnson becoming the first Libertarian to best a million votes.

However, the answer might lie in the growing anti-Washington sentiment simmering in the western United States, as he took the Libertarians to over 1% in every Rocky Mountain and Pacific State, and in some cases 2%, and he did so with increasing vote totals when overall turnout was down.

And while some of Johnson's 1.1 million votes probably came from disaffected pro-marijuana legalization Democrats, I bet you most where potential Romney voters, or at the least former McCain supporters, and if so, is yet another demographic issue for the Republican Party to deal with as we look to 2016 and rebuilding.

What Luck! Obama Won Dozens of Cleveland Districts with 100% of the Vote

President Obama must have run a great campaign considering the tremendous numbers he put up in numerous big cities. Over in Philadelphia, he was lucky enough to get 90% percent turnout in some districts with over 99% of the vote.

In Cleveland, in some districts he did even better with an astounding 100% of the vote in dozens of locations. For example, in Cleveland's Fifth Ward, Mr. Obama won districts E, F, and G 1,337 to Mitt Romney's... 0. And in case you're wondering, Gary Johnson received more votes than Mr. Romney.

Well, maybe that's just a fluke. In the Ninth Ward, Mr. Obama won districts D-G with a paltry total of 1,740 to... 3. Hey, at least Romney got .2% of the vote!
1,337-0
Okay, what if we look at an entire Ward? No way this trend continues, right? An entire ward. Why not do the First Ward? Obama won that one 12,857 to... 94. This time Romney got .7% of the vote. He's moving up in the world!

In total, there are 21 districts in Cleveland where Mr. Romney received precisely 0 votes. In 23 districts, he received precisely 1 vote. And naturally, in one of the districts where Obama won 100% of the vote, there was 100% turnout. What a coincidence!

By the way, in case you are thinking that Romney did so poorly because maybe those districts were not very populated: Nope.  In those 44 districts, Mr. Obama won 14,686 to 23.  That's .16% of the vote for Romney.

But Ohio's not important in the electoral college, right?

Update: Mr. Obama won in St. Lucie County, Florida, which had over 140% voter turnout.

Hillary Clinton to Step Down

Getting ready for a run in 2016? From the Daily Mail:
Hillary Clinton will step down as U.S. Secretary of State within 'days' of President Barack Obama's second inauguration in January, her spokesman said today.

Her long-respected departure is expected by most Democrats to be a prelude for a White House run in 2016, when she will be 69.

The top candidate to replace her is believed to be Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the losing 2004 Democratic presidential nominee.
John Kerry's replacing her too? That just gives me shivers.

Fraud in PA: Obama Got Over 99% of Vote at Polls Where GOP Inspectors were Removed; Turnout Somehow "30%" Above Gov't Numbers

Across Philadelphia, GOP poll inspectors were forcibly (and illegally) removed from polling locations. Audio has emerged of one incident in question. Coincidentally (or not), Mr. Obama received "astronomical" numbers in those very same regions, including locations where he received "over 99%" of the vote.

Ward 4, which also had a poll watcher dressed in Obama attire, went massively for Obama. Mr. Obama received 99.5% of the vote, defeating Mr. Romney 9,955 to 55.
Is it odd that a county that expelled GOP inspectors and had people openly campaigning for Obama ended with 99.5% for Obama and 9955 votes for him? It's up to you to decide.

Another problem: "Voter turnout in Philadelphia was around 60 percent, according to state election figures." In these precincts it was well over 90% according to House Speaker Sam Smith of Pennsylvania. Considering all of the other "coincidences" going on, it doesn't seem kosher.

Clear fraud, odd percentages, and numbers that don't add up? Congratulations on your re-election, Mr. Obama.

Update: Obama also won 99.8% of the vote in 44 Cleveland districts. In Ohio, Obama won in a county with 108% voter registration.

The Joy of the Lord is My Strength

As predicted numerous times in the History of the Future, the Progressive Republican could not defeat the Progressive Democrat.  Why would people want a shadow when they can have the real thing?

It was a hard choice to endorse the Progressive Romney, but I felt that the stakes were so high it was worth the effort.  As I said repeatedly he might have driven us to the poor house a little bit slower.  Instead we have a triumphant President Obama and the Chicago Outfit he represents sitting astride the prostrate body politic.  The last four years will be but a prelude to the horrendous destruction these looters will do to the American Experiment in the next four.  And given their obvious ability to lead their army of useful idiots, takers, and corrupt city political machines to electoral victory we should probably brace ourselves for President Biden in 2016.

The perpetually re-elected establishment rigidly controls the entrenched two party system, which conveniently calls itself Democrat and Republican.  They are two sides of the same coin, and two wings on the same bird of prey.  They both represent the Progressive central-planners who believe government is the answer when we know it is the problem.  No matter which side wins the government grows and devours more of the nation’s output and its wealth.  The election results ratify the electoral majorities’ union with the statists.  It also points to:

·         the permanent establishment of Obamacare

·         the probable capture of the Supreme Court

·         the loss through re-interpretation of our rights

·         the full implementation of the Cloward/Piven Strategy with massive debt , borrowing, and inflation

·         the expansion of rule by decree

·         the continued and expanded humiliation of America in international affairs

·         the end of the American experiment in limited government, personal liberty and economic freedom as we have known it

As alarming as all this sounds do not despair, God did not leave us nor forsake us.  First of all He gave us plenty of warning.  This author and many others repeatedly predicted an Obama win.  As I stated numerous times, the Chicago Machine doesn’t lose elections.  Also our hope is not in the hand of man.  Man didn’t give us the peace that passes all understanding and he can’t take it away.  God gave us His Word which is always our refuge and our fortress.

He told us:

·         A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.

·         Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength

·         Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!  Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

·         God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear…

·         If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

That is why I can face this morning with joy in my heart and hope in my spirit for I know who my Savior is and I know what He has promised me.  Build your life upon the Rock that doesn’t roll and when the wind and waves beat against you, you shall not fall.

God’s Word tells us not to put our trust in leaders whose plans are of this world.  Don’t look for utopia here.  Don’t keep your treasure in the world where rust destroys and time forgets instead keep your treasure with God.  He promises us that if we draw near to Him He will draw near to us, and that if we humble ourselves before Him He will lift us up.

So don’t despair.  Don’t let the passing victory of the evil steal your joy because if the devil can’t steal your joy he can’t keep your stuff.  And remember, weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.  Trust God, praise Jesus, and remember: the hope of the righteous will be gladness, but the expectation of the wicked will perish.  The plans of the wicked may flourish but they will also wither like the flower in the field.  Trials and tribulations come upon us so that we may grow and persecution was also promised to those who believe along with a way of escape.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Keep the faith, keep the peace, we shall overcome.

Why Romney Will Win The Popular Vote: A Statistical Analysis

Whether or not Mitt Romney will win the general election is up in the air. It all comes down to a few key states and, possibly, just a few thousand voters. One thing is being predicted far and wide, however: Mr. Romney will win the popular vote.

But even though political pundits like to take guesses and say what their gut is telling them, there's good statistical data to back up these predictions.

In 2008, Barack Obama won the popular vote with a total of 69,456,897 votes. John McCain received a total of 59,934,814. In case you cannot instantly do complex math in your head, Obama won 7.2% more total votes than McCain (52.9% versus 45.7%).
Barack Obama
Compare that with a poll that Rasmussen released in early November of 2008. According to the poll, 33.8% percent of people saw themselves as Republicans, 41.4% as Democrats, and 24.7% as non-affiliated. The difference was Democrats with a plus 7.6% advantage.

Obama wins by 7.2%, 7.6% of Americans see themselves as more of a Democrat than a Republican. Does the trend hold?

Well, in November of 2010, Republicans made huge gains in the House and some in the Senate. According to Rasmussen, in November of 2010, 36.0% of Americans saw themselves as Republicans and 34.7% as Democrats. That's a 1.3% advantage for Republicans.
Mitt Romney
But you are probably wondering what the current party affiliation is. Well, if you support Mr. Romney, I have good news. According to a Rasmussen poll released on October 31, 39.1% of Americans see themselves as Republicans, 33.3% as Democrats, and 27.5% as unaffiliated.

Does that mean that Romney will win by almost 6%? Probably not. Does that show that it is extremely likely that Mr. Romney will win the popular vote? Yes.

Obama-McMahon in Connecticut?

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon's campaign is deploying an interesting election day strategy to sway voters to support her candidacy at the polls:

Obama-McMahon 2012?

In a state as deep blue as Connecticut, this is probably her best chance of winning over some uninformed voters heading to the polls today, as splitting their ballot is McMahon's only real shot at defeating her Democratic opponent, same with Senator Brown in neighboring Massachusetts...

FRAUD: Democrat- "Already Voted Twice Today, Once in MO, Once in KS"

Election Prediction, November 6, 2012

Our site has endorsed Governor Mitt Romney for President, and I believe that he will win the popular vote. However, I believe he will come just short of the electoral college vote, meaning that Barack Obama will win a second term.

I did not come to this decision lightly, particularly because I want Romney to win (and because Obama is an egotistical maniac). However, I do not believe Romney will come away with a victory in Pennsylvania and will just barely lose in Ohio.

He will come very close, though. In my analysis, I have Obama winning a mere 275 electoral votes. Romney, however, will receive a popular vote of around 67,000,000 people, with Obama possibly only receiving about 66,000,000.

But this is only my prediction. My fellow contributors surely see it differently in some ways.

Pundit Press Endorses Romney

Our fair website, despite the dissenting vote of a certain Joe, has decided to endorse Mitt Romney for President of the United States.

We believe that Mr. Romney will lead our nation much better than the current administration. We also believe that Mr. Romney has a tangible plan for the next four years while Mr. Obama has not stated a plan other than, "Tax the rich."

America needs leadership. Mitt Romney can provide it.

My Endorsement and Prediction for the 2012 election

I am endorsing Barack Obama for president, and the electoral college will be 281-257 in favor of Obama.

Statistical Analysis: Cuyahoga Early Vote Numbers Show Romney Cutting Obama Lead in ENTIRE STATE by 26%

Down 16% overall, down from 54,340 in 2008 to 45,337 this year-- down 9,007 or 16%. And most of the decline came from Democratic voters.

The numbers show a huge increase in GOP voters here:

Democrats: 127,741 53.36% or 89% of 2008
Republicans: 47,091 19.67% or 138% of 2008
Other: 64,544 26.96 or 78% of 2008
Total: 239,376 or 84% of 2008

Compare this with the 2008 results:

Obama: 458,422 69.05%
McCain:  199,880 30.11%
Total difference: 258,242

If GOP voting is up 38% in just the early voting and the Republicans are better prepared for election day, they could narrow the gap.

Let's assume that the early voting numbers are directly proportional to the overall vote count. If the independents flip 50/50 and the Democrats and Republicans keep their partisans, it leads to this result:

Obama: 404,202 66.74%
Romney: 200,768 33.15%
Difference: 203,434

This six point shift would represent about a net 44,812 vote decline for the President compared to 2008 (assuming the voting totals are down 8%, or about the level of people that left the county since the last election).

Furthermore, if the GOP increases their turnout 10% over the Democrats, the numbers get a little better:

Obama:  391,726, 64.68%
Romney: 213,911 35.32 %
Difference: 187,815

Assuming the same 8% drop as before, this would represent a massive 70,427 swing. Considering Obama won the state by 262,224, this would be 25.86 of his entire margin last time. Cuyahoga was about 12% of the electorate in 2008 and would hand Romney a huge step toward winning the rest of the state.

FRAUD: Convicted Felon Arrested After Trying to Vote for Obama

Our fraud watch continues, this time in Tallahassee, Florida. In just the last two days we've uncovered a Democrat who voted four times in North Carolina and the NAACP taking over a polling location in Texas.

Today, convicted felon Mary Otley was arrested for trying to register to vote. According to police, Otley attempted to file an application to vote and was arrested and accused of submitting false voter information.
Otley
Otley says it was all a misunderstanding, even though she physically wrote in that she had never been convicted of a felony. She claims an organization (the report does not specify) told her that it was okay to do that. She was arrested, but who knows how many people were told by "an organization" that they could vote illegally?

The woman is facing two counts of submitting false voter information, both felonies. She has been released by police "on her own recognizance."

LIFE IN THE ASYLUM

PREDICTIONS (11/5/12):

Your MO Atty, perhaps himself not yet realizing what Life in the Asylum really means, has decided to go out on a limb and make some Election Day predictions. Wherever you see an asterisk [*] it will indicate a caveat. * [First caveat: The following presupposes that the other party (once known, believe it or not, as the party of JFK) will content themselves with shuttling around a few hundred busloads of illegal aliens to vote in selected key precincts, and forego their new GOTV technique that would allow thousands of the ever reliable dead people to vote not just once, but multiple times each.] Here goes:

OHIO:    Romney carries Ohio. Analysis: Ohio, like seemingly every other state, has more than its share of screamingly left wing lawyers, media people, and university professors. But lawyers, media people, and university professors are not known for the large quantities of useful goods and services they produce to meet the everyday needs of the rest of the people in their state. In Ohio, as in most other states, this requires much larger quantities of basic, decent, blue-collar type people.

People like coal miners, who have awakened to the facts that BHO has been lying through his teeth to them, and that he is intent on destroying the entire coal industry. For the first time in forty (40) years, the United Mine Workers!!! has declined to endorse a presidential candidate. And masses of individual miners are openly calling BHO a liar.

And while BHO has the bosses of the UAW bought and paid for, the actual auto workers may be having a similar awakening. The UAW is now officially the “United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America”. Maybe the actual workers have noticed that since BHO, the once flourishing space program no longer exists. We hitch rides on Russian spacecraft, and NASA has been officially retasked to “Muslim outreach.” There are not a lot of manufacturing jobs available in a Muslim outreach program. Chrysler, like it or not, is now an Italian car company, and what Jeep manufacturing it does not send to Italy, it will send to China. GM has already morphed from “Government Motors” to “China Motors,” as recently attested to by its own CEO. We can reasonably expect that a lot of the current Toledo auto workers will not want to bet their futures on the truthfulness of BHO.

Combine that with the size and enthusiasm of the Romney crowds vs. the BHO/Biden/Clinton crowds, not only in Ohio but also in most other contested states, and pick Romney.

TODD AKIN/CLAIRE McCASKILL:    Akin wins. Analysis:    Todd Akin, a decorated military veteran, businessman, family man of strong faith, reliably conservative and pro-life, uttered a single ill-thought-out phrase in answering a question about abortion. The media and the other party (in reality a single entity) pounced. Unfortunately, so did the Republicans, including Romney, Ryan, and the Chairman of the RNC, thus keeping faith with the time-honored statement that “they don’t call Republicans the stupid party for nothing.” Missouri is moderately conservative and strongly pro-life. Claire McCaskill, shall we say, is not. Akin was well ahead in the polls at the time.

In addition to McCaskill’s sycophantic relationship with BHO, she has other serious problems. For instance, she touted her previous experience as State Auditor, but “forgot” that she owned a twin-engine airplane on which she “forgot” for three years to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal property taxes.  It was not helpful that Romney, Ryan, and RNC Chair Reince Priebus “ordered” that Akin withdraw his candidacy, then withdrew all party financial support when he refused. Aiken, unlike most Senators, is not a wealthy man. [Full disclosure: MO Atty donated to Aiken’s campaign].

Bottom line: Missouri is still Missouri, Claire McCaskill is still Claire McCaskill, and Aiken has caught back up to her. Aiken wins, unless [*Second Caviat: Romney/Ryan/Priebus decide that Aiken should be denied his seat in the new Republican Senate for disobeying their “order” even though it might leave them one seat short.]

SCOTT BROWN/ELIZABETH WARREN:    Brown wins. Analysis:  Almost three years ago, Scott Brown won the actual, still warm, Kennedy seat in Massachussetts. He did so against an appropriately left wing woman of mediocre political gifts, and with a very left-wing friend-of-Barack Governor campaigning against him. BHO had not fallen anywhere near as far from grace as he has today.

Now Brown is not contending for the still-warm Kennedy seat, but for his own seat. He is again running against an appropriately left-wing woman of mediocre political gifts, with the same friend-of-Barack Governor campaigning against him, with the added cartoonish element that Elizabeth Warren brings: that she is actually 1/32d Cherokee, a “fact” she knows because her grandmother had high cheekbones. Pick Brown.

SENATE:    Republicans retake the Senate. Analysis: See Akin, above, and Brown, above. Also recall that the Republicans only need to pick up three seats. They have only ten to defend vs. twenty-three for the other party.

PRESIDENCY:    Romney wins. Analysis: See all of the above. In addition, the Earth has truly moved. Having had a front row seat for the photo-op leadership of BHO and the Swiss-watch precision and federal government competence of FEMA in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Newsday (!!!), has endorsed Romney!! Newsday, a large and reliably left-wing publication serving Long Island and New York, was not subtle: “Elected with a significant mandate and his party briefly in control of both houses of the Congress, Obama squandered the support of the nation. Newsday endorses Romney.”

Thanks to the screamingly left wing lawyers mentioned above, we may have to temper our celebrations through several months of litigation, but Romney will be sworn in on January 20, 2013.

MO Atty does not ordinarily ask God’s help in writing columns, but in this case he makes an exception: May God bring these predictions to fruition, and may God indeed bless America.

Mitt Romney Full Speech in Morrisville, Pennsylvania - 11/4/12

Romney: "I ask the American people to vote on love of country."

Romney Owns Momentum as Election Nears in Pennsylvania

As we head into the final hours of the 2012 Presidential election, the great state of Pennsylvania is not only in reach for Republican nominee Mitt Romney, but I would argue is leaning for him judging by tonight's massive 30,000+ rally in Bucks County, where the incumbent won by seven points in 2008.

And how can I say that?

Well, I was one of the brave souls who braved freezing temperatures, gusty winds, security check points and a near-endless wait to hear our candidate, the 45th President of the United States, Mitt Romney speak to us. And in my entire life, I have never seen such a enthusiastic out pour of support, as supporters laughed, kept a good mood during the wait and unwaveringly loved Romney during his twenty-thirty minute stay.

It was personally one of the greatest experiences of my life, as me, and three friends came four hours from Upstate, New York to Bucks County to first distribute hundreds of palm cards and door hangers across a shopping center parking lot in Doyletown, and to have the special opportunity of cheering our candidate in this pivotal election from just twenty feet away around 30,000 of our closest friends.

I understand the media likes to treat polling data as the gospel, and even that has Pennsylvania well within reach for Governor Romney's campaign, but something has to be said for momentum, which carried both Obama in 2008 and Bush in 2004 to victory, when it comes to getting out the vote and base enthusiasm.

Such as when an incumbent executive averages crowds in the thousands and his competitive challenger the tens of thousands. Each and every single one of those people in Bucks County are heading to the polls for Romney in 2012, and not only that, but they are telling their friends, family and neighbors to vote as well.....

We can win this thing, America... Polls open tomorrow morning, bright and early, get out there and vote!!!! Make phone calls, drag friends to the polls, distribute literature and exhaust social media resources... And keep an eye on Pennsylvania, if last night's rally is indicator, its going to get close folks... Real close.

On the Ground With Romney: "The Most Excitement We've Ever Seen in Our Life"

We're just out of the Morrisville, PA Mitt Romney rally. To say the least, the Mitt Romney campaign is utterly energized.  I was impressed and now fully believe that Pennsylvania is completely in play.

We set sail early in the morning, before nine in the morning.  We drove for over four hours from New York, through New Jersey, and on to Pennsylvania.  Before going straight to the rally, we headed to a local victory campaign center and were given some campaign fliers.  We then proceeded to go to a local mall and distributed several hundred palm cards.

The organization in Pennslyvania was better than I expected, though at times the Romney signs were lacking. What certainly was not lacking was the rally we attended and the palpable enthusiasm for Mr. Romney.

The event was to start at 5:30, but we decided to go a few hours early at 2:30.  10,000 people were expected, but already several thousand people were there when we arrived.  We parked on a large, grass lot and were bused over to the main site.  On arrival, we had to stand in line for about two hours.  The going was, to say the least, a slog.  There were thousands of people standing in line in sub-freezing temperatures just to get in.

We bought a few pins along the way.  We saw maybe a dozen people selling merchandise, from shirts, to pins, to a book depicting the 2012 campaign as the Cat in the Hat (we didn't buy, it was much too expensive).  Here's a picture on the outskirts of the rally:
So we go through long lines and go through metal detectors run by the TSA (yes, that TSA).  Here's a pic once we arrived to the stage that they were getting ready:
Thousands of people crowded towards the stage.  The stands were packed, the ground was packed.  It was standing room only times five.  As videos were played on the big screen or pre-Romney speakers took the stage, the massive rally cried out in deafening applause, shouts, or boos depending on the situation.

It took a while for Romney to arrive.  Speakers spoke for a bit longer, drawing out their excoriations of President Obama, while at times directly making light of the wait.  But eventually Mr. Romney took the stage to uproarious applause.  I've never seen a crowd of people hang on every word of a man before.  And that "10,000" number that was expected?  I do not think it was a stretch to say that the rally drew tens of thousands more than that.  I'd estimate the size at somewhere around 30,000 strong.
Romney Takes the Stage
It was a tremendous gathering.  We came about 20 feet from Governor Romney, who spent a dozen minutes shaking hands and talking to people.

As we left, we struck up a conversation with a local couple who attended the rally.  When asked about what they think will happen in Pennsylvania on election day, they stated bluntly, "We don't trust the polls.  Talking to people, seeing the signs... this is the most excitement we've ever seen for a candidate in our life."

After it was over, and we took twenty minutes getting out of the parking lot, we put up several signs around town.  We also treated ourselves to some pizza and frozen yogurt.

It was a tremendous day.  Pennsylvania is in play big time.  Support is at its zenith.  Go out and go vote.
