Good News: Obama Won County in Ohio with 108% Voter Registration

I can't believe President Obama's luck. First, he received over 99% of the vote in districts where GOP inspectors were illegally removed. Next, he won 100% of the vote in 21 districts in Cleveland. Well, he's gotten another lucky break!

Mr. Obama won Wood County in Ohio this year. That's right, Mr. Obama won the majority of Wood County's 108% of registered voters. That's not a typo.

In 2012, 106,258 people in Wood County are registered to vote out of an eligible 98,213. But it certainly must all be a coincidence, right?
108%
Democrat Daniel Gordon, First Ward Council Member, remarked at how well the President had done this election cycle. “There has never been a more efficient and powerful ground game in American politics,” he said. “I think this is a win for the American people, and I’m very proud of all the young people who poured their hearts out into this.”

And secretary of College Democrats Morgan Holliger chimed in, “We won Wood County, we won Ohio.”

Mr. Obama did indeed win Wood County, along with its 108% of voters.

    2. Laurence county went nearly 65% Romney with 10% lower turnout than the rest of the state. So, yes Ohio needs to clean up their registrations, but no data suggest it's being abused. This is Laurence County election results: http://voterfind.com/public/ohlawrence/precinct.htm

    7. I researched the data. What I found was this- Wood county Ohio has a voting age population of roughly 93,000. Registered to vote, there were about 106,000. So there was about 10,000 more people registered to vote than actually live in Wood County, according to the census data. What the data left out, though, was the roughly 17,000 students at Bowling Green University, who vote in Wood County while at school, but their "Home" address is still listed as the county in Ohio from which they came. (and, where they are not registered to vote). So voter registration drives did do a great job getting a very large percentage of the voting age population registered, but it was less than 100%, when you take the University population into account.

    8. So 100% of all possible voters in Wood County voted for Obama? That's unbelieveable. What was the count for Romney?

  2. Your own source states that Obama won Wood County by a few thousand votes:

"With nearly 98 percent of Wood County precincts reporting in Tuesday night as of 1:00 a.m., Obama led by just more than 2,000 votes over Romney, according to the Wood County Board of Elections."

It was Michael Moore being Michael Moore. But don't get your knickers in a twist imagining it was PSYOP.

John Kerry just signed the UN treaty on small arms that thankfully congress has already voted not to ratify. Obviously the intent to both take guns and hand power over to the UN are there. They are just waiting for their opportunity to strike.

  6. The 98,213 number is from the 2010 census. People move, people move back home after losing their jobs, people age 2 years and become 18. In fact according to the same 2010 census numbers Wood county had nearly 24% of it's population under the age of 18.

    1. I know you're just trying to lie and then run away, but it really isn't hard at all to look up numbers that confirm this article: http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2012/09/16/voter-rolls-in-ohio-are-bloated-experts-say.html

      Delete
    2. No I am telling you the straight facts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood_County,_Ohio As of 2010 there were 125k people in Wood County, 24% of its population was below age 18. Now on top of this, there was only 57% voter turnout in Wood County. So yes, some people could have moved away and not reregistered elsewhere. Especially if they moved out of state. On top of this though, is that Wood County's turnout was well BELOW the Ohio state average of 68%. I want to have an open, honest conversation on what actually went wrong with the GOP. Not this silly fraud talk. We need actual fiscal conservatives, not people who introduce 1 trillion dollar deficit budgets as the 2012 House did.

      Delete
    3. So, in other words, 125K people, 24% under the age of 18 is: 93,750 eligible to vote. There are 106,000 registered in 2012. So you're saying the fraud is bigger than you originally thought? Or are you just a fucking moron?

      Delete
    4. Give cjrec a break, Anon. I hear addition and subtraction are hard

      Delete
    5. Okay 24% of 125k is actually 95k. However the actual numbers are 23.7% and 125,488 which brings us to 95747 as of 2010. Since we don't have actual numbers from a 2010 election in the article stated I can't tell you what the registration total was then, and I am not an expert on Wood County population shift between 2008 and 2012. However the 98,213 number they cite must be from somewhere right? Who knows. Either way with such low voter turnout vs the rest of the state, it seem clear through statistical analysis that Wood County has too many registered voters, however not enough people voted for it to look like ballot stuffing. Unless you are going to tell me the actual residents voted even lower than the 10% below Ohio average. Now lets talk about what really went wrong. The GOP putting up another fake conservative.

      Delete
    6. UUMMM 24% of 125K is NOT 95K. 76% of 125K is in fact 95K. So lets learn math. 24% (0.24) * 125K (125000) = 30K (30,000). Now you said that 23.7% of 125,488 is 95747. This is not true either. Math says that 0.237 * 125488 = 29740.656. and that was the math lesson for the day.

      Delete
    7. Anonymouse (8:57 PM) I was referencing the above discussion where it is already addressed that I was talking about 24% youth of a 125k population, leaving a legal voter pool of 95k. Sorry if I wasn't specific enough for you to comprehend. Again with the actual numbers I was referencing the left over population of 95747. In fact my first sentence was badly stated however my second was not. Now I am also made aware that there is a college population in Wood County of 17,700 which doesn't count towards census numbers but does count towards registered voters. This explains the discrepancy. However your attack on the phrasing of my data, not the actual data is sufficient proof that you are unwilling to look at the facts.

    14. You also must take into account the fact that registered voters don't just get removed from the rolls the second they move away. If they don't reregister in another place or tell us they moved, then they stay on the voter rolls in that county for a certain period of time...sometimes years...before they are purged. So, it looks like there are more voters there than there really are. The more important numbers to look at are the numbers of voters who actually voted in that county vs. the number eligible to vote (if that info is very recent). For instance, we had 7,000 new voter registrations in the 6-8 weeks preceding the registration deadline in our county, and we have about 17,000 voters who are on inactive status, which means they likely don't even live in our county or our state, anymore, and it could be another 4 years before we are permitted to purge them.

With 17,700 enrolled at BGSU, that could certainly account for a large chunk (if not all) of the 8000-vote difference cited between "Wood County registered" and "voting-age population"...especially since "registered" does not equal "cast a ballot."

  20. If you look at the voting map of the state. MOST of the ohio counties went romney. what put obama back in were Cincinnati, Columbus, Athens, and the Cleveland area. Highly urban, or liberal college dominated locations. I also question bi-location voting. Such as the 'snowbirds' that reside in ohio and reside in florida or the south half of the year. Nothing keeps them from registering to vote in both locations. Since we don't have a National Registry of Voters like many countries do which only allow one vote per person and tracks where that vote occurred.

  22. Look, the Democraps will commit voter fraud ANYWHERE they can, by any means they can. The ACORN vote fraud prosecutions, the James Keefe videos, and many exposès have proven that.

But . . . there appears to be NOTHING legit about these punditpress stories of voter fraud. When you check the cited election results, the vote totals are NOT as claimed in the article. Cleveland had a 67% turnout, with the highest turnouts of 80-82% (one listing showed there were only 2 voters in some sub-district of a large district - both voted, and that ONE listing showed a 100% turnout). There WERE NOT "dozens of Cleveland districts with 100% of the vote." There simply were not. Whoever is writing these stories is a fraud - either some kind of misfit or sociopath, or a partisan hack, or possibly a leftist propaganda artist, who knows? Whatever, they don't have any basis in fact.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that there were 1,000's of fraudulent votes cast by "absentee voters." But the election returns don't identify those voters. They are the other two people of three registered in a one-person home, or a college student registered in two states, or the non-existent siblings, friends or roommates of Democraps who have filled out voter applications for people who do not actually exist.

Based on the US Census and actual votes, about 62% of Wood County's eligible voters voted and 61% of Ohio's eligible voters voted. This turn-out of eligible voters is lower that the 2008 election by about 5% for both the county and the state.

  34. People ! Get a grip ! While it's true that most voter fraud is committed by Democrats, in this election it doesn't even matter. The reason Hussein Obama got re-elected is the same as in the first election - black voters came out to blindly vote for a black man ( although in OB's case that is only half true ). Had this election been between two white candidates the black voters would have stayed home in droves as they historically have. If the Republican Party is to ever win another Presidential election they must get more people of color into their party. Ideally their next candidate will be a half black / half hispanic transgendered female lesbian. That would cover just about all the demographic changes that have occurred in our country in the past fifty years.

    ReplyDelete
  35. First, the 21 districts in Ohio which voted 100% for Obama were in Cuyahoga County, Cleveland, and those same districts have historically voted for the Democratic candidate. Also, many of these Cleveland districts are nearly 100% black persons. Now, do you seriously think that Romney swayed these districts away from the Democratic party as well as a black candidate that you can legitimately claim voter fraud?

As for the claim that Wood County had 108% voters...the reference is from the amount of eligible voters (98,213) taken from a 2010 census opposed to the amount of registered voters (108,014 of which 62,069 voted). Wood County is home to Bowling Green University (17,000+ students). Do you think it may be a possibility that in the two years since the 2010 census, that the number of eligible voters may have increased due to the number of students who have changed their residency status to Wood County for the sake of voting? Also, keep in mind that Obama won with 52.61% of the vote in 2008 in Wood County as well. (2008 Presidential Election: 101,891 registered voters, 65,164 voted).

    1. So what you are telling me is that all black people vote Obama, not one black person can think for themselves, That all black people want is free handouts and obama phones and that all have been so brainwashed by the democrats and the liberal media not one single one of them can think for themselves. WOW that is pretty racist!

    2. Bowling Green University is not a Historically Black College or University. In fact, per Bowling Green University's multicultural page here: http://choose.bgsu.edu/info/multicultural/ only 17% of the school is African American or other minorities. Just face the fact that Republicans pissed off everyone except White Males and some white females. They have been out of touch with the changing American landscape for years. GW Bush tried to get the party back on track but failed miserably in 2004.

    3. Also, here's the link to Wood County's vote results.

      http://www.co.wood.oh.us/boe/Election%20Results%20Final%20Unofficial.htm

You (and hopefully everyone else skimming the comments, as well as the original author) will see that Obama received 31,596 votes, or 50.9% of votes cast.

  36. When so many college educated people prove to be so profoundly ignorant of the who they are voting for and what that person has done (and will do) it does not bode well for this country. Years of political brainwashing (ala Bill Ayers plan) is turning young people into ignorant and brainwashed voters. While everyone seems bent on "gettin' mine while the gettin's good," we are over $16 trillion in actual government debt and over $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities. All these fired up, enthusiastic young folks who are working for Obama's campaign are sealing their fate. They are fighting for their own empoverishment and servitude. You cannot tax your way to prosperity - trust me. Ever lived in a socialist tyranny with no money? Didn't think so. Well, don't worry - you will.....and it isn't as far away as you might think! BTW: Thanks for your help in destroying the last free nation on the planet. Bon Voyage!

    1. Well these same people who are looking for the freebies are usually low income, stupid and lazy. We will all suffer with Obama's communist agenda for years but those who Obama voters will suffer the most!

    2. Sounds like you need to relearn your macroeconomics. The deficit is shrinking, and if government spending spurs growth in the private sectors (ie: as it's been doing since the stimulus went into effect), then we'll see an improvement in the economy.

Once that improvement kicks in, government spending tapers back down, and the debt is paid off.

All of this happened back in the '90s under Clinton, and it would have kept happening if Bush hadn't paid for two wars, a drug plan, and massive tax cuts with the country's "credit card."

    3. Also, to "still an american," the "low income, stupid and lazy" typically vote red. You know, those trailer-trash rednecks sucking on the government teat in the form of food stamps and welfare, all while decrying the very programs allowing them to survive?

      Yeah... good luck with that.

Also, if you *really* think that anything this president has passed is communist, you have neither a thorough grasp of current events nor a working understanding of what communism is.

Too bad us "edumacated libruls" seem to be the only ones that actually understand macroeconomics or political theory. :/

  37. The ObamBots will cheer wildly because their guy won with 108% mandate! That's fantastic! Here comes the royal boot in your ass now that Cuyahoga county has accomplished two things. First, they've succeeded in destroying the sanctity of the vote, formerly safeguarded by the blood of patriotys. It's worthless now. And, second, they've elected a party that cherishes the stolen election as its last hurdle to overcome the rigors of a constitutional republic. With the safeguards to government tyranny now stripped away, the entrails are now 108% owned by 100% of the people. Thanks Cuyahoga County. You da best!

  38. You libs can try and twist it anyway you want the massive voting fraud perpetrated by the democrat party is absolutely disgusting. You can't twist the numbers that in 59 precents in philadelphia Romney didn't get one vote. Now even you liberal losers have got to admit that in 59 precents there must be at least one person with half a brain! The Democrat party is no better than a bunch of Natzi's!

    1. Right, because when conservatives implement draconian voter ID laws; or when tea baggers authorize unconstitutional voter purges; or when republican volunteers alter ballots in their favor; or when GOP hired voter-registration groups discard Democrat voter registration; or when voting machines vote for Romney when the voter selected Obama: it's all fine and dandy. However, when *one* blogger misreads the statistics on a voting location, it's "voter fraud."

Do forgive me if I leave my torch and pitchfork in my garage.

  39. "Mr. Obama won Wood County in Ohio this year. That's right, Mr. Obama won the majority of Wood County's 108% of registered voters. That's not a typo.

In 2012, 106,258 people in Wood County are registered to vote out of an eligible 98,213. But it certainly must all be a coincidence, right?"

As of November 12, there were 31,596 votes for Obama and 28,997 for Romney, for a total of 60,593 votes. This far short of the 98,213 people you claim are registered and even shorter than the 106,258 registrations received.

Note that the number of registrations can be a reflection of people registering more than once due to moves, absentee ballot requests, uncertainty that registration was received, etc. The voter registrar is supposed to weed out the multiple registrations, and you have no indication that they did not.

  40. The voter numbers in the first story link
    ( http://www.cleveland.com/datacentral/index.ssf/2012/09/ohio_voter_registration_list_i.html )
(from the Cleveland Plain Dealer) do not agree with the numbers listed by the Ohio Secretary of State
    ( http://www2.sos.state.oh.us/pls/enrpublic/f?p=212:43:1513449639304803::NO::P43_RACE_ISSUE_ID,P43_RACE_NAME,P43_REGION:CBEE0A962E844C62A9BF9F1DD32B31F0,President,Statewide )

The numbers by the Ohio Secretary of State do not indicate any problem (other than the low 52% turnout).

  41. Voting-age population in Wood County (according to the U.S. Census Bureau): 99,441

Total number of votes cast for any president, including third-party candidates: 61,967

Of those votes, 31,596 (50.99%) were for Obama.

If people moved away and did not re-register in their new county, they would still be on the voter rolls in Wood County. I don't find it hard to believe that 8,000 people could have moved since the last time they voted.

The numbers simply don't back up a claim of 108% of registered voters pushing Obama to victory. Nice try, but this is why nobody takes you guys seriously anymore.

  42. Where are you getting these numbers? 99% of the vote? 108% of the vote? When you look at the official vote count, Obama won Wood County with 63% of the votes, with 31,596 votes for Obama, and 28,997 votes for Romney. The total number of people who voted was 60,593, or just 61.7% of registered voters, not 108%.

This is from Fox News: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/elections/2012-ohio-state-race (you can see the results from every county.

    1. Oops, I apologize, accidentally looked at the wrong county for the vote percentage. Obama won 51% of the votes, not 63%. All other numbers are correct.

  43. saying something is true does not make it true..where are the facts - all I have seen is people saying he had 108% of the vote but the poll numbers in Wood County DO NOT reflect this..so where are the facts?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Just so it's clear, only 61,967 people voted in Wood County. Which is 58% turnout. And the President won 51% of that to 46.8%. Some people seem to have the impression that the President got 108% of the vote. He got 30% of the registered voters.

Also keep in mind that some voters stay on the rolls after they move and die, just until they are removed. And there is a large student population.

Hey guess what, Obama is still the president. YAY!

  45. Why does Wood County’s vote totals, which can be found on the board of election’s website, have Obama getting 31,596 votes in the county compared to Mitt Romney’s 28,997 votes??

Why do people believe these stories without fact checking? UGH

  46. Where do you go for a fact check? Can't through the MSM. Too bias and too dishonest. can't with Snopes. Big time Obama supporters. can't with Politifact check. Started by one of the nations most liberal and unbalanced news outlets.

  47. So in other words, 27 out of 25 people supported Obama and -8.764% supported Romney. Makes perfect sense.
