U.N. Vote on Palestinian Statehood

With the Israelis and Hamas just concluding a brief conflict that resulted in heavy losses for the latter and a diplomatic victory for Egypt's new government, the region is once again the center of everyone's focus as the U.N. General Assembly votes on Palestinian statehood this afternoon.

A move that could further embroil the two foes in hostile conflict, as the U.N.'s expected vote of approval would grant a governing entity of terrorists nationhood equal to that of Israel, a peaceful country that has only responded aggressively after exhausting all efforts of restraint and patience.

Which would allow the terrorists, who have sworn Israel's death and destruction as their primary mission, to use international law against their enemies the next time they use a school as a shield, hiding their rocket launchers, and the IDF has no choice but to engage because their children are under constant indiscriminate barrage.

The vote is not expected to be close, as the international body is well known for both its strong anti-Jewish postulations and resolutions and equally strong support for the plight of the occupied lands, however, the votes of certain western nations could tell us a lot about how many friends Israel really has for when the next big conflict emerges.
