Libya Rebels Expand Westward

The rebels in Libya appear to be making gains. This comes after over a week of Allied bombing over the country and the imposition of a no-fly zone. It seems that the rebels captured Brega, an oil-facility, yesterday.

There were unconfirmed reports early Monday that rebel forces had routed pro-Qaddafi defenders in Surt, but there was no corroboration. Even so, rebels in Benghazi, the birthplace of the uprising, drove through the streets, blaring horns and firing weapons into the air to celebrate.

They're heading closer to Tripoli. Qaddafi must be quaking.
