Obama: I "Prevented the Second Great Depression"

If you haven't heard about it yet, President Obama went on liberal shill Jon Stewart's show last night.  Sure, most Presidents might scoff at the idea of going on a comedian's show to try to get support, but the President did not think twice about it.  He also did not apparently think once about it, especially with the talking points that spewed out of his mouth.

Stewart gave Obama an almost completely soft ball interview.  He also did not press the President on most of his answers, such as the ludicrous claim that, quote, "we prevented the second great depression."

Such a statement is utterly ridiculous.  Most respectable analysts have stated, at best, the President's economic policies have not effected the economy.  At worst, the President's economic plans hurt the country badly, pushing the US towards the brink of economic collapse.

Stewart also did not mention to the President that, under his leadership, unemployment and the national debt has sky-rocketed.  The President was allowed to blather about his so-called "accomplishments," while Stewart patiently listened to him talk.

Take a look at 5:37 in the video below.  I warn you, though, it is nearly vomit-inducing:

Here is a partial transcript:

Obama- "...Having said that, I look over the last eighteen months and I say, 'we prevented a second great depression, we've stabilized the economy, an economy that was shrinking is now growing, we've had nine months of consecutive private sector job growth, we have passed historic health-care reform, historic financial regulatory reform.'

We have done things that some folks don't even know about."

I think I need a shower.
