Why I Am Against the Ground Zero Mosque

Much has been said in the last few months over the proposed Mosque that would be located two blocks away from Ground Zero.  Its proximity to one of the greatest national tragedies in U.S. history, which occurred in the name of Islam, has earned it the name “Ground Zero Mosque.”

Now, I will not say that I am against the Mosque because 68% of Americans are also against it.  I will also not say that I am against the Mosque because it is a house of worship for Muslims.  This is the United States, and Muslims are protected under the First Amendments, like every other religion.  No, I am against the building of the Mosque for one reason: Feisal Abdul Rauf.
Imam Rauf is the religious leader behind the Ground Zero Mosque.  He is also a nut.  After 9/11, Rauf stated that “the United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened.”  Not only that, but he went on to say that “in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laden is made in the USA.”

The Left is touting Rauf as a moderate Muslim, but a man that holds these views cannot be anything but a radical.  To allow him to build a Mosque just two blocks away from one of the greatest tragedies in American history (which he said we were an accessory to) would be ridiculous.
