U.S. Army Captain Assaulted at Albany, New York Wal-Mart

So if you're standing in line at your local Wal-Mart and you happen to notice a member of the U.S. armed forces ahead of you, the typical response is either to quietly acknowledge the service member with a nod, perhaps a handshake and a polite word or to outspokenly thank him or her for their service to our country.

Unfortunately that didn't occur at a Albany, New York area Wal-Mart supercenter on Thursday, as a U.S. Army Captain was verbally and physically assaulted by the man standing behind him in line for no apparent reason.

Yiqiang Wu of neighboring Schenectady was arrested and arraigned for assaulting the U.S. Army Captain, which has been captured on video and is being shown on CBS 6 Albany's webpage, as Wu started yelling derogatory statements about the United States and the Captain's military service to his face as he checked out at the register and then lashed out.

The idiot has been charged with assault, but as a hate crime for specifically targeting a member of our U.S. armed forces.

What in the hell is wrong with people?
