Football is Finally Back Tonight

Do you hear that?

That's the sound of tens of millions of football fans cheering the return of NFL this week across the country. Starting with the Packers-Saints matchup tonight on NBC airing at 8:30 PM - if President Obama ever stops speaking.

After months of anxiously asking "if?" football would be played this season, the focus is back on important topics like which chips to purchase (and of course, how much), or how can Cincinnati really still be considered a professional team.

I, for one, am quite pleased my Sunday's will once again have football in them, because my area lurches into the dead of winter very painfully soon, and I need something to occupy my time, or else I'll become one of those Polar Bear people you laugh at on television.

The New York Jets 2011 squad looks very promising, particulary on offense, and the overpaid menace of Indianapolis will likely be sidelined for months to come. And who isn't waiting to see if ESPN's appraisal of Philadelphia's Super Bowl LVI prospects are more Vick-tastic than realistic.

The season is likely to be long, especially since ten million mentions of the darn lockout is in order, but I hope everyone enjoys it, and that your team performs well - unless you're a fan of Indianapolis, New England, Pittsburgh, or any other AFC team for that matter.

Go Jets and go football!

What say you?

P.S. - Packers 34; Saints 17 - take that to the bank!
