Hoekstra for U.S. Senate

Finding someone viable to challenge Michigan U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D) in next year's election has been difficult for the Republican Party, even though her early polling numbers indicate weakness among likely voters in the traditionally Democratic bastion of liberalism.
Well, they can end their search because the perfect candidate has announced.

Former U.S. Representative Pete Hoekstra has just filed the appropriate paperwork to establish a campaign for the 2012 Senate election. I received an email from his campaign earlier this morning, like millions of other supporters, alerting me to the fascinating news.

As someone who has long supported Mr. Hoekstra's efforts in Congress to fight radical Islam, I am pleased to no end that the naturalized American is running to return to elected office and defeat one of the Democrats loyalist members in the Senate. He deserves our support in his campaign to unseat Ms. Stabenow.
