2011 Turkey Election Results

UPDATE:

The final 2011 Turkey Election Results

--Original Article--

I do not have the actual number of seats won yet, but Prime Minister Erdogan's AK Party will definitely remain in complete control for the next four years. The AKP is leading in all but fifteen Provinces with nearly 100% of the vote counted.

Over fourty-two million Turks voted today, or almost 85% of all eligible voters.

National Results:

AKP - 50.05%
CHP - 25.95%
MHP - 13.04%
BGMZ - 6.54%

The securalist opposition (CHP) actually gained five percent of the vote since 2007, but the AKP gained almost four percent, and the Kurdish Independents (BGMZ) gained one percent. The nationalists (MHP) might have reached their electoral height in July 2007, because they lost more than one percent today.

This isn't good news for the future of Turkey.

Stay tuned for more Pundit Press coverage.
