Why is Arnold Schwarzenegger Getting a Divorce?

Less than a year after heading out of the California Governor's Mansion, movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver, have announced a separation. This comes after 25 years of marriage.

Shriver is a relative of the Kennedy political family and Schwarzenegger was a two-term Governor of the Golden State.

Part of the reason could be professional:
Since Schwarzenegger left office, it had seemed as though the two were living separate lives. Shriver has worked on her women's empowerment website, guest edited an issue of Oprah Winfrey's magazine and promoted causes near to her heart, such as Alzheimer's research. She struggled with the death of her father, Sargent Shriver, in January, and took her son Patrick and some of his friends on an East Coast college tour in April.

Shriver, 55, spoke openly about the uncertainty she felt about moving on to the next phase of her life.

"It is so stressful to not know what you're doing next," Shriver said in a March 28 YouTube video to supporters. Though there was no intimation of a split, Shriver appeared without her wedding ring. "I'd like to hear from other people in transition," Shriver said. "How did you get through it? What were three things that enabled you to get through your transition?"

The former governor, 63, told a Times reporter in April that he yearned for a show business comeback. It was later announced that Schwarzenegger had signed on to star in three films, including another installment in the "Terminator" series.

There hasn't been any word of an affair by either party-- it is still unclear for the immediate reasons for the divorce.

  2. I can belive that it could result from needing some more attention, as from having a movie career, or political office position.

  4. To Anonymous may 11, 2011 1:18 AM, the illegals are taking away jobs from people in the U. S. who are ACTUALLY legal citizens. And don't give any crap about how no one else will do jobs like that but the illegals, the way the economy is now, people will take just about any job. Grow a brain.

  5. What a retard you are posting things online about immigrants at 1 AM in the morning. I bet you don't have a job, or a life and you are complaining that immigrants are taking jobs. What a bunch of crap that is. Jobs are not being taken, immigrants are willing to take the jobs LAZY legal citizens don't want, then they complain that they don't have a job. Get real and be honest with yourself lazy complainers.

  6. I can't believe she's so stressed over not knowing what she's doing next! Really, you have nothing to worry about financially. How about this, take your money and name away for a year, get a real job, and live like a regular person. Then Maria, you will know stress!
