McCollum's anti-Army Amendment Fails

Congresswoman Betty McCollum reached a new low yesterday afternoon.

She introduced an amendment to end all military NASCAR sponsorships; sponsorships that reach tens of millions of potential recruits for our Armed Services, and she didn't even have the gall to admit that it was about targeting the military, instead she attempted to cast herself as a fiscal conservative.
Her amendment failed fantastically at 148-281. 88% of Republican lawmakers voted no, along with almost 40% of the Democrat caucus. Just 30 Republicans, including Michele Bachmann and Scott Garrett, put the savings of seven million dollars over the Army contact of 46,000 potential recruits at these events.

Betty McCollum has voted for the worst of Obama's domestic agenda: stimulus, ObamaCare, Cap & Trade and humongous federal budgets, but now she's a fiscal conservative?

Not a chance in hell. Her intention was to push Tea Party members of Congress into a tight corner, while attacking the highly successful recruitment efforts of the Army. This Congresswoman is vindictive and I hope her constituents kick her out next year.

The House should be proud that this anti-Army, anti-recruiting amendment failed by 133 votes.

What say you?
