Pundit Press is proud to present its 24th interview in our ongoing series. Today we're interviewing Angela Toft, the National Director of the group Conservatives4DeMint. 1. When did you start Conservatives4DeMint?
An informal movement to draft Jim DeMint began in August of last year. As nationwide support grew, the movement evolved into Conservatives4DeMint which was launched in January of this year.
2. Why is Jim DeMint such a good candidate?
Jim DeMint's courage and honesty make him an appealing candidate to conservative Republicans and Independents. He has a solid conservative voting record and stands on principle no matter the cost. A few months ago, Newsmax referred to Jim DeMint as the "Senate's Lone Ranger." But he was never alone. Americans across the country were and are standing with him. It's time we let him know.
3. Do you expect him to run for the White House?
Less than two weeks ago, in an interview with National Review Online, Sen. DeMint stated that he might feel compelled to run if he felt "a strong pull from people all over the country." At this critical time in our nation's history, the American people are crying out for a leader like Jim DeMint. There's definitely a possibility that he will be drafted.
4. What is the best part about running your site?
Being a part of Conservatives4DeMint has allowed me to meet and work with conservatives across the country.
5. If not Jim, who do you like for 2012?
Since Congressman Mike Pence has opted out, it's imperative that we nominate a principled conservative like Jim DeMint. He's definitely my top choice. Several good potential VP candidates, including Michele Bachmann, are now emerging. Marco Rubio would also make an excellent running mate.
6. Anything else you'd like to add?
