Prankster Poses as Governor Cuomo on Twitter.

Twitter: Where one man's mistake is another man's goldmine.

Governor Andrew Cuomo, who was sworn in last week, had a brush with the mischievous side of the internet last week when a college student posed as him on Twitter, and according to the New York Times - many New Yorkers bought into the sham:

The Twitter page that Mr. Fahrenkopf created seemed perfectly plausible for a politician, and featured the same snapshot of Mr. Cuomo — smiling and looking off into the distance — that can be seen on the home page of the governor’s new Web site.

My own Congressman actually followed this account believing it was factual.

The false account is no longer in existence, and Governor Cuomo's account has over 800 current followers. I hope elected officials & official staff monitor such outlets of information to avoid such embarrassments in the future. We're living in a brave new world for citizens and politicians alike.
