Voting Irregularities: 2010

With early voting underway in over a dozen states and the general election just five days away, cases of voting irregularities are already rearing their ugly heads:

In Nevada, Incumbent Democratic Senator Harry Reid is in a tight race against Republican challenger Sharron Angle.  However, it was reported Tuesday that, should voters decided to cast their ballot in English on an electronic machine, Reid's name is automatically selected. This could potentially cost Ms. Angle thousands of votes and possibly the entire election.

In North Carolina, voters across the state are dealing with another irregularity.  According to reports, if a person were to try to cast a ballot after selecting only Republicans, the ballot would automatically switch to only Democrats.  This could heavily influence voting throughout the state.

By far the most blatant case of voting irregularities in the country, the Congressional race in Pennsylvania's eight District contains outright fraud.  Not only that, but Congressman Patrick Murphy himself is involved:
"they have evidence linking Democratic Congressman Patrick Murphy's campaign to a scheme to flood the county voter registration office with fraudulent applications for absentee ballots."
With such a historical election coming on Tuesday, cases like these will surely get close scrutiny.  Also sure to get scrutiny: the fact that these irregularities just happen to all be supporting Democrats.
