Calgary-based TransCanada sent a letter to the U.S. State Department to suspend its application while the company goes through a state review process in Nebraska.
The thousands of good paying jobs to build the pipeline won't happen. The safer transport of oil versus trucking or rail won't happen. The further development of our energy advantage, and it's strategic competitive value regarding Russia won't happen.
Even Canada's new (and unfortunately very liberal) Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau backs the Keystone XL Pipeline. Obama is so far off base on this one. That said, I don't think the pipeline is dead for good. It will get built eventually, just none of it during this presidency.ReplyDelete
