Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal: More Payback for America

Contributor article by Teri O'Brien

Here’s what nearly everyone is missing about Obama’s Iran nuclear deal. When they say it will pave the way for Iran to get a nuclear weapon, they need to understand that for Barack Obama, that’s true, but it’s not a bug. As we told you back in February, it’s a feature.

It has been obvious for the last several months that the Obama Regime has been desperate to make a nuke deal with Iran, and yesterday, it got its wish. So did the Iranians. Their president says they got everything they wanted. From Fars News:

"Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said his country has achieved all its four goals in the agreement that his foreign minister Zarif signed with the six world powers in Vienna on Tuesday. President Rouhani said his nation started talks with the world powers in a bid to remove all sanctions while maintaining its nuclear program and nuclear progress as two main goals.

"All sanctions, including the financial, banking, energy, insurance, transportation, precious metals and even arms and proliferation sanctions will be, not suspended, but terminated according to the Tuesday agreement as soon as the deal comes into force, he said, adding that Iran will only be placed under certain limited arms deal restrictions for five years.

"Meantime, Iran will inject gas into its highly advanced IR8 centrifuge machines, continue its nuclear research and development, and keep its Arak Heavy Water Facility and Fordo and Natanz enrichment plants under the agreement, he said, elaborating on Iran’s gains."

Also delighted with this deal, Vladimir Putin. Russia has been expanding its influence in the Middle East, capitalizing on fear other nations’ in the region fear of Iran. From Fars News:

"[I]n the last six months, Russia has struck three significant nuclear deals with long-time U.S. Middle East allies, effectively capitalizing on regional distrust of Iran. In February, a deal was sealed with the Egyptian government of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to help Cairo build and operate its first nuclear reactor. A month later, in March, Jordan signed a $10 billion deal with Russia to build the kingdom’s first nuclear power plant, with two 1,000-megawatt reactors in the country’s north. And in June, Saudi Arabia and Russia agreed to a deal, the terms of which are not public. But unnamed sources told the Al Arabiya TV network that the kingdom planned to build 16 nuclear reactors that Russia would play a significant role in operating."

From The New York Times:

"The deal reopens the door for lucrative contracts to expand Iran’s civilian nuclear energy program, which Russia has been looking forward to for years. And it may neutralize a major reason the United States has offered for developing a missile defense system in Europe, a project that President Vladimir V. Putin and other Kremlin officials have said was a threat to Russian security.

“We all probably remember how in April 2009, giving a speech in Prague, the U.S. president, Barack Obama, said that if Iran’s nuclear program is successfully regulated, then the aim of the European segment of the missile defense will be dropped,” Mr. Lavrov said straight into the cameras of state-controlled Russian television. “This is why today we drew the attention of our American colleagues to this fact. We will expect a reaction.”

So the Russians see this deal as part of our not putting a missile shield in Europe. Obama promised them he’d be more “flexible” after he was re-elected, didn’t he?

Another Obama irony, in an age full of ironies. The One, who claimed to want to rid the world of nuclear weapons, just helped start a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Do we think the Saudis are going to sit back and let Iran nuke up and do nothing? That’s as ridiculous as the laughable idea of the “snap back” of sanctions if the Iranians cheat on this deal. Once the money is flowing, do we really think we’ll be able to convince Europeans to stop doing business with Iran? (Yes, that’s a rhetorical question.)

These facts are all crystal clear. This deal is bad for America. It’s bad for Israel. It gives the terrorist-enabling, hostage-holding Iranian Regime, whose leader only 4 days ago was leading a “Death to America” flag-burning party, everything it wanted. Anyone but the most besotted Obama Kool-Aid drinker or clueless network-tv viewer can see them.

So why was Barack Obama so desperate for this deal, and why is so delighted to see it come to fruition?

Most people attribute it to his desire to burnish his “legacy,” which also includes sterling “achievements” like Obamacare. They say he wants to be able to say “I’m the guy who normalized relations with Iran and Cuba. Yay me!”as in “I made the world safer by using diplomacy, and ‘soft power. I’m not like that stupid cowboy George W. Bush who thinks America should have the right to push the rest of the world around. Behold my mighty hand!”

Here’s is what Obama said when he strode to the podium on July 14 to crow about another accomplishment, suggesting that legacy is what it’s all about:

"The United States, together with our international partners, has achieved something that decades of animosity has not — a comprehensive, long-term deal with Iran that will prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon.”

Once again, just as he did on Monday about the deficit, as he has repeatedly about his heinous health care scheme, and as he did about his lawless amnesty, he was lying through his teeth. Clearly, this deal gives Iran the green light and paves the way for them to get a nuclear weapon. As Lt.Col. Tony Shaffer said July 14 on Fox News, “it’s the Obamacare of international agreements. If you like your non-nuclear Iran, you can keep your non-nuclear Iran.”

Obama knows that Shaffer’s sarcasm is deserved, just as he knew you could not keep your doctor or the health insurance that you found satisfactory.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t doubt that he’s very concerned about his legacy. Nor do I doubt that he considers himself to be much smarter and much more capable than George W. Bush, or anyone else on earth. I’m sure that when he’s talking to himself in the mirror, as he did in that bizarre, cringe-inducing video released last February, he is saying “How can anyone be this brilliant, and still be this cool? People who don’t understand how I get away with lying just don’t get it!”

I think most analysts are confused about what he wants his legacy to be. Yes, one of his objectives is to leave office considered a brilliant foreign policy president, but  that’s not his primary goal.

For Obama, job one is, and has always been, payback for racist, imperialistic Amerika, disabusing Americans of any belief in “American Exceptionalism,” a concept that he despises. Bottom line: He wants Iran to get a nuclear weapon so that they can be a world power. We told you about that back in February during this edition of The Teri O’Brien Show. Check out this very lengthy article, Obama’s Secret Iran Strategy, which we discussed on the program. This deal is the culmination of the vision he has had all along; specifically, to facilitate Iran’s arrival in the nuclear club.

Obama’s “remaking” of America includes not only the destruction of the health care system and the wrecking ball for the suburbs, both of which prior to his arrival, were in his mind instruments of unfairness, especially to “people of color,” but also cutting her down to size internationally. This deal is a critical part of that strategy.
