House votes to curb Syrian refugees despite Obama veto threat


Speaker Paul Ryan says he's mystified that President Obama is talking veto of a bill that will delay acceptance of Syrian refugees. Nancy Pelosi says the Democrats bill was a better fit designed to improve background checks.


The House of Representatives passed a bill that would suspend the program allowing Syrian and Iraqi refugees into the U.S. until they are confirmed to not be a security risk. President Obama has said he will veto the legislation.
