Two people injured in shooting at Air Force base in Arkansas


Two people reportedly have been injured and transported to the hospital after shots were fired at the front gate of the Little Rock Air Force Base on Monday.

“Base security personnel are responding to an incident at the base gate. All base gates are currently closed to traffic,” the base said on Twitter.

"The base has currently locked down all entry control points to the installation.
             
"At approximately 9:15 a.m., an active threat occurred at the front gate to Little Rock AFB on Vandenberg Drive. The base's gates are closed to inbound and outbound traffic until further notice.
             
"Two individuals have been transported to a local hospital. First responders for the base are on-scene coordinating with Jacksonville Police Department and the Air Force Office of Special Investigation
             
"The safety of base members and their families are of base leaders' utmost concern. More information will be provided as details become available," base offiicials said in a statement.
