"Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is Innocent" Group Created on Facebook, Already Has Over Half a Thousand Members

Overwhelming evidence is no match for stupidity. Hot on the heels of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's arrest last night, the Facebook group "Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is Innocent" was quickly formed. As of writing this article, the group has over 700 members.(Update, 7:31 PM, EST: Over 2,800). (Update, 9:43 PM, EST: Over 3,000). (4/21- Update: Almost 6,000 now). (4/13- Update: Now over 14,000).

Why anyone would create a group like this can only be speculated upon. The only thing written in the description of the group is, "this is a set up!"

Additionally, the group is claiming that the Boston Bombings themselves never occurred, and that some sort of government entity killed innocent people, while staging the explosions, with thousands of operatives (pretending to be marathon runners, bystanders, etc.) 'in on it.'

Here are some average posts on the group's page (obscenities redacted):

Elsewhere on the group's page are horrifyingly stupid posts saying that, in fact, no one was hurt in the Boston Bombings. Here is a particularly graphic one, in which the poster states there is no blood on the street... when the picture shows a tremendous amount of blood on the street.

On the bright side, if there is one, the vast majority of the members who have posted do not live in the United States.

  1. Out of curiousity I did checkout this facebook page and it is ridiculous. Most of the posts are confusibg and hard to understand because of the bad grammer and spelling mistakes. Many of those commenting are arguing with each other. The arguments made, I assume, in hopes of convicing others that the brothers are not guilty or were set up are unintellegent and weak. It is truly stupid!

  2. There were people that said Tim McVeigh was innocent, too. But I guess photos from thousands of by-standers were all staged and photo shopped. I just hope most of those ding bats on that Facebook page don't live in th U.S.
