Senator Rand Paul Filibustering Brennan Nomination

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) is filibustering the administration's nomination of John Brennan, currently the chief counter-terrorism adviser to President Obama, to head the CIA over concerns over the constitutionality of drone strikes against United States citizens at home and abroad in our ongoing War on Terror.
He launched his filibuster shortly before noontime and has held the Senate floor for over two hours as of now and appears ready to hold onto the floor for several more before yielding. He says his one-man filibuster has nothing to do with politics - pointing to his votes in favor of both Kerry and Hagel - and that he wants to bring attention to a topic that deeply concerns him.
This is the first true Senate filibuster since Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and several allies filibustered the extension of the Bush tax cuts in December of 2010 which lasted more than eight hours.
Although I'm not entirely in agreement with Senator Paul, I admire his convictions that have pushed him to remain on the Senate floor, passionately expressing his beliefs, in the art of the one-man filibuster that is so rare in modern politics it instantly attracts public attention and, often, admiration.
His filibuster is being streamed live on C-SPAN2.
