Verdict Reached in Sandusky Trial; Will be Released Momentarily

The jury in the Jerry Sandusky child molestation case has reached a verdict. The media has received a twenty-minute verdict notification, which means that the result will be announced in twenty minutes.

Jerry Sandusky is a former Assistant Coach for Penn State The high-profile began last year when almost a dozen people came out, revealing that Sandusky has molested them, which then resulted in the firing of Penn State Head Coach Joe Paterno.

Sandusky faces 48 counts against him and up to 400 years in prison. Most legal analysts have predicted that he will be found guilty on most, if not all, charges.

Several hours before the verdict was reached, the jury asked for clarification on testimony that a janitor gave. The janitor stated that he heard that a fellow employee had witnessed Sandusky had raped a child. This, however, is hearsay because he did not witness it himself. The jury was certain how to apply this to their deliberation.
