The Return of Baseball

It's the most wonderful time of the year: baseball is back.

After months of freezing cold, constant boredness and the heart-break of another failed Jets' season, springtime is once again bringing back the rejuvenation of baseball into our homes, fields and minds.

The pre-season brought many changes as well: Albert Pujols to the Angels, Prince Fielder to Detroit, Bobby Valentine hired to manage the Redsox and the Marlins signing Jose Reyes from the NY Mets. Plus, the post-season will now have an additional round of wild card playoffs, which should be quite interesting to see in action.

Sadly, my Braves front office made no major decisions over the winter. Our roster matches 2011 too perfectly in my opinion, although that doesn't hurt us considering we were just one game from being playoff bound, rather then the eventual World Series champions, St. Louis.

I'm hopeful our 2012 club, anchored by Chipper Jones, Brian McCann and Craig Kimbrel will bring Atlanta back to the playoffs, but regardless of outcome, I sure am glad the boys of summer are once again taking the field, and soon center-stage on my television, computer and life.

What say you?
