Marlins Sign Reyes to $106 Million Deal

I can't help but be happy right now.

Why?

Because the Miami Marlins (new name, yet still lame) just signed all-star shortstop Jose Reyes to a six year, $106 million deal to start the annual Winter Meetings. Meaning the prime star will be sidelined in Miami and wont be able to torture my Braves in the Mets lineup anymore.

The deal will likely cause mass hysteria in Mets universe, beginning with my fellow bloggers at Pundit Press (I wont reveal their names for risk of public humiliation), but what do you expect from their Mets, who actually thought Kaz Matsui was a good idea several years ago and just let their biggest fish leave?

This should delight Marlin fans, however few there are - probably less than 10,000 hard core, and ease tensions in Braves Nation over whether the Mets only good player would remain to haunt us until next decade. Either way, it's Christmastime in the MLB and interesting stuff will be coming out every day.

What say you?
