President Obama is overseas visiting allies and nations in the Asia Pacific region, which isn't actually news catching, but his actions in relation to Australia have been out of character for him: he has gone Down Under and strengthened our relationship with our allies; not hindered it.
He announced yesterday that the United States will be sending 250 Marines to Australia next summer, which instantly caused heads to spin in Beijing, in order to conduct training missions; increase military partnership with our old allies and friendly remind China not to intervene outside their borders in Asia.
Our Marines will be housed in Australian bases near Darwin, which is situated on the Timor Sea and in the country's sparsely populated northern territories.
I support this action, because (1.) we have no stronger allies than Australia, (2.) we can never have too many troops in South East Asia and (3.) we can never waste an opportunity to show the Chinese who's boss in foreign affairs, especially militarily.
What say you?
