One person is in critical condition after an accident at the Lucky Friday Mine in northern Idaho...

Mike Dexter, a community relations employee in Wallace who is speaking on behalf of the mine, says there was an accident in the number four shaft during the construction of a new shaft.

Dexter says he cannot comment on what happened. He does say that a contracted employee working in the mine was hospitalized after the incident, and is listed in critical condition. The employee’s name has not been released. The employee works for Cementation USA, which contracts engineers and contractors.
