Chris Christie to Announce Decision on Running for President Today

Let the speculation continue:
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has scheduled an afternoon press conference in Trenton to announce his decision on whether he will run for president.

The appearance is set for 1 p.m., his office said, giving no further details.

Christie is set to make the announcement days after sources confirmed he was reconsidering his long-held promise that he had no interest in pursuing the 2012 Republican nomination.

The outspoken former state attorney general has repeatedly said he would not run. Last January, he said he had made a pledge to Garden State voters to be their governor. In May, he said he was "thrilled"by the attention, but added "I just don't want to do it."

A month later, he said he was "100 percent certain" he would not run next year, adding that he was making the decision "based on whether I believe in my heart that I'm ready to be president of the United States."
