You would think from the video that thousands upon thousands of people were lining up to participate in non-violent civil disobedience to protest the Keystone XL Pipeline Project. This would be an incorrect assumption. In spite of aggressive promotion of the cause on various liberal/environmental websites and a slick video by Josh Fox the action has only been able to muster no more than 65 individuals thus far. Today it was only 52 pathetic people. Since the inauguration of this action on Saturday fewer than 200 people have heeded the call to action and subjected themselves to the onerous misdemeanor and potential fine. I don't think this was what Jane Hamsher, Danny Glover, James Hansen, Naomi Klein, Bill McKibben, Maude Barlow, Wendell Berry, Tom Goldtooth, Wes Jackson, George Poitras, Gus Speth, David Suzuki, Joseph B. Uehlein, or Josh Fox had in mind when putting this charade together. Twitter hashtag #fail seems appropriate.
Care of Healthcare BS, I came across the following video, that seems apropos. In it George Will explains why engineering greatness in America is a thing of the past. Thanks to the environmental lobby the country has been effectively castrated....sorry for the anti-fracking reference. I couldn't help myself. But the point is clear. "You couldn't build the Hoover Dam today because they would discover a snail darter in the Colorado river and would stop it".
