New York became the sixth state yesterday evening to redefine the traditional definition of marriage to include homosexuals - joining Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Iowa, and New Hampshire - in deciding 5,000 years of civil society based on morality was wrong, unfair and even bigoted.
The State Senate voted 33-29 to redefine marriage. Four Republicans crossed over to the other side, while only one Democrat, a former Pentecostal minister, remained adamantly in opposition to the moral depravity until the final vote. It will become official when Governor Cuomo signs the legislation.
As a proud citizen of New York - I have never been more ashamed of my state government before now. Banning bug bombs is one thing; desecrating marriage is another. There are no feelings of cheer - or pride - inside me, but sadness and disappointment that my state believes it knows better than human biology, and God's morality.
Shame on New York.
What say you?
