Thad McCotter 2012?

Sound the alarm. Another candidate might run for President.

There are rumors this evening that Congressman Thaddeus McCotter is being encouraged to run for the Presidency next year. He is the ultimate dark horse candidate, but is one of the Republican Party's brightest stars, even though he was just elected to his fifth term in office from Michigan's 11th House district.

Mr. McCotter's 2010 American Conservative Union rating was 86%, slightly above his lifetime average of 84%, and his overall record cannot be deemed anything less than Conservative: he supported the Iraq War and the Bush tax cuts while opposing the 2008 financial bailouts of Wall Street.

I think the Congressman is definitely Conservative and experienced enough to receive the nomination, but we must recognize the sad truth that no-one from the House of Representatives has been elected to the White House in over one hundred and thirty years. And that was a former Civil War General.

What say you?
