Conservatives and Liberals alike are asking the same questions tonight: will President Obama attempt to win Texas next year, and could the state go blue?
Barack Obama will have to defend Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio and several other Bush states that went blue in 2008: there's absolutely no way his campaign would allow him to dump $25 million on the state that breathes and lives Conservatism.
Republicans control every statewide office; both legislative branches and two-thirds of U.S. House seats. I think the fact Governor Rick Perry has now been elected three times by millions of Texans should affirm that Democrats do not exist anymore to win in the Lone Star State.
The answer is probably no on the first account and definitely no on the second.
I'm sure we will hear about racial demographics as we move closer to the vote, but Hispanics in Texas are actually more Conservative than most nationally.
Texas will remain in Republican hands. Period.
