Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour announced this afternoon that he is not running for President next year, and will focus on his final year in office.
As a former Haley Barbour supporter, before he decided to oppose the War in Afghanistan for his own gain, I am surprised he pulled out. His faithful decades of service to the Republican Party would have made him a lock to raise tens of millions of dollars in any Primary battle.
This means no serious Republican candidates from the South have entered the 2012 Republican Nomination battle, unless you count Buddy Roemer, and not one serious person is counting him.
