Barack Obama Believes in the Second Amendment?

During President Obama's joint press conference with Mexican president Felipe Calderon yesterday afternoon, the President proclaimed that he believes in the Second Amendment right of all Americans to bear arms. The statement came in response to an absurd question by a Mexican reporter as to why Obama doesn't just veto the second amendment.

Stop the presses!!!!

Is this coming from the man who nominated Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, two anti-second amendment judicial activists who have already opposed the right to bear arms in McDonald v. Chicago, to the United States Supreme Court during the first half of his first term in office? Neither Justice would ever be the choice of a real Constitutional lawyer.

As a proud member of the NRA (National Rifle Association), which has over four million members now, I find the President's claim not only laughable, but absolutely incorrect with his actions since the 2008 election - starting with his poor selection of anti-gun Eric Holder to become America's Attorney General.

President Obama might not be as public, or as pursuant, about his anti-second amendment views as President Bill Clinton was in the 1990's, but he definitely isn't on the side of more than 80 million gunowners in the United States today, and I would wager he's our first President to never hold a firearm in his life.

What say you?
