The War in Madison - So Now What?

The "War in Madison" between Governor Scott Walker and the teachers unions has reached a stalemate: neither Walker, nor the unions will back down from their current position on public union rights and collective bargaining. And to make matters worse - the entire Democrat state Senate delegation is in hiding.

So now what?

Conservatives are reduced to declaring this the modern version of the Boston police strike and praising Franklin Roosevelt's stance on collective bargaining, while liberals attempt to drag police officers and firemen into a budget dispute that has nothing to do with them. And the unions are doing what unions do:
  1. Comparing Governor Scott Walker to President Hosni Mubarak.
  2. Teachers are illegally striking and doctors illegally writing notes.
  3. Bused in thousands of pro-union activists and thugs into Madison.
This situation is absolutely useless for everyone involved right now, but the issue of beating back the greedy, power hungry public unions is pivotal. We cannot afford to lose this fight when we're so close to achieving victory over public union hacks. Governor Scott Walker must continue to fight.

So the blogosphere must continue to support Walker; the media must continue to cover the war between fiscal sanity and union interests; the Republicans must continue to remain defiantly united and the Democratic Senators must return to Madison, and debate the people's business.

What say you?
