Most NFL fans will be rooting for the St. Louis Rams (7-8) to defeat the Seattle Seahawks (6-9) tonight for only one reason: posterity. Most fans do not want a losing team (Seattle would have a 7-9 record) to claim either a division title, or playoff spot. It would embarrass everyone involved in the league, both owner and fan alike.
That's why I'm rooting for the Seattle Seahawks to win tonight. If the National Football League wants to create a league where the team that performed better last season receives a higher draft spot than the team that performed worst last season in the entire league - I firmly believe that they should be embarrassed in front of the entire world for rewarding failure.

ReplyDeleteHaving said that, if you're a Seahawks fan, it's not like those 2010 NFC West Champions merchandise have to mention the 7-9 record anywhere....altho' that should be a stipulation for future runs of NFL Merchandise.
Of course, I only say that because MY team finished the regular season at 14-2.
