A tight election between Incumbent Democrat Dan Maffei and Republican Ann Marie Buerkle has come down to the wire this election. According to the polls, Maffei has held a small lead over Buerkle right up until now. According to Real Clear Politics, Maffei is leading Buerkle by 12 points in the polls. As far as I am aware, that 12 point lead came from a Siena poll. The same outfit that had Rick Lazio ahead the day before Paladino trounced him in the GOP gubernatorial primary. Siena did not divulge the demographics of the poll, we don't know how many Dem/Rep/Indies were polled, but we're supposed to take their word for it. Every other poll has shown them to be neck and neck.
