Huckabee's Biggest Winner: Santorum

Mike Huckabee is not running for President.

We all know, and accept the interesting fact.

Now we must attempt to figure out who Mr. Huckabee's base will support in next year's nomination battle, but I have a feeling we do not have far to go because only one potential candidate appeals to millions of now displaced voters.

Meet Rick Santorum.

The former Pennsylvania Senator is probably discounted by most political bloggers and pundits because of his devastating re-election defeat in 2006, but that defeat doesn't mean anything when you are discussing this particular man.

Santorum's political life has always been about surprising everyone on election evening. His record includes two unexpected victories over longtime incumbent Democrat legislators and quite a few legislative headaches for his former Senate colleagues because of his unrelenting social conservative principles.

And nothing hinders him from continuing the good fight.

Few pieces of Santorum sponsored legislation have ever passed, but his greatest accomplishments include his involvement in the Gang of Seven that exposed the corruption in the House Bank and sponsored passage of the Iran Freedom and Support Act, which has appropriated $10 million towards regime change in the hostile nation.

This candidate might be behind the pack in various polls, but once Huckabee's base learns about his strong social conservative record and principled stances during his sixteen years in Congress, we will all know about him.

What say you?
